    摘要: A thin coating of a solution containing a low surface energy material is applied on the inner surface of tubing of a condenser or an evaporator of an air conditioning system. The solution is run through the tubing of the heat exchanger and drained. After drying, a monomolecular layer of the low surface energy material in solution remains on the inner surface of the tubing. A polymer with a lower surface energy and chemical and thermal resistance is employed, such as silane, fluorocarbons, polyetheretherketon (PEEK) and polysulfone. The thin coating of the lower surface energy material in solution prevents lubricating oil from the compressor which mixes with the refrigerant from wetting over the inner surface of the tubing, encouraging the formation of oil droplets. By preventing the build up of lubricating oil, heat transfer is improved.

    摘要: A bearing system includes a lubricant circulation apparatus to provide a continuous supply of a cooled lubricant fluid to a bearing device. The bearing device may be a hydrodynamic sleeve bearing having a bearing housing defining a sump for maintaining lubricant fluid therein. The bearing sump is in fluid communication with a reservoir which maintains a supply of lubricant. A pump communicates with the reservoir to draw a desired quantity of lubricant fluid therefrom and deliver it to a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger uses an existing source of air from an operative pump motor to increase the air circulation through the cooling fins of the heat exchanger. The cooled lubricant is thereafter delivered to the bearing inlet and provides a cooler operating environment for the bearing system.

There is provide an internally mounted high pressure pump in a pump housing in the crankcase and connected to internally routed high pressure lines that deliver the oil to high pressure oil rails. There is provide an integrated low pressure oil reservoir in the crank case that comprises a low pressure oil cooler and reservoir. The oil cooler is preferably immersed inside the low pressure oil reservoir to optimize available engine space and improve heat transfer. There is also provided a high pressure pump filter that covers a high pressure pump inlet feed passage to prevent debris from passing into the high pressure oil pump and other components on the high pressure oil circuit.

    摘要: A transmission has an integral lubrication system for delivering lubricating fluid to transmission components. The central portion of the lubrication system is conveniently located within the intermediate wall of the housing. The housing has an opening and inlet and outlet ports in fluid communication with the opening. A pumping assembly having inner and outer rotors is disposed within the opening for moving the fluid from the inlet port to the outlet port. A pump cover is attached to the intermediate wall over the opening and the rotors. An inlet and outlet chamber is defined within the opening by the pump cover and space between the inner and outer rotors. The inlet and outlet chambers are in fluid communication with the inlet and outlet ports, respectively, so the pump may draw the fluid from the inlet port into the inlet chamber and then expel the fluid into the outlet chamber and to the outlet port. The intermediate wall also contains integrally formed inlet and main feed passageways. The inlet passageway interconnects the inlet chamber and a sump that stores the fluid and provides fluid communication between them. The main feed passageway interconnects the outlet chamber and a distribution system that delivers the fluid to a plurality of transmission components within the housing.

    摘要: An improved oil mist generating system in which air and oil are supplied to a mist generator in which the air and oil are combined to form oil mist. The system is characterized in that the oil is alternately provided by a main oil reservoir and an auxiliary oil reservoir each of which is provided with a mist generator. Each mist generator is operatively associated with a control device for alternatively activating one of the mist generators while deactivating the other. Also disclosed is an oil mist generator which includes a heater manifold extending into an oil reservoir heating both air and oil prior to entry into a mist head in which the air and oil are combined to form an oil mist. Air and oil are introduced into the mist head through plates which are removable for replacement by plates of different sizes, allowing oil mist capacity to be changed.
