摘要: A method for plugging a subset of cells of a honeycomb structure that includes: covering a first end face of the honeycomb structure with a mask that comprises a body and a plurality of openings, wherein the plurality of openings of the mask is coincident with a plurality of cells of the honeycomb structure; providing a plug of material upon a film material; applying a force to the film material to push the plug of material through the plurality of openings of the mask and into the plurality of cells of the honeycomb structure; and measuring a pressure within the plurality of cells during the applying step, wherein the applying step further comprises adjusting the force applied to the film material based at least in part on the pressure within the plurality of cells to push the plug of material to a predetermined depth within the plurality of cells.

摘要: The present invention relates to a catalyst for the oxidation of hydrocarbon and the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides, the catalyst comprising a substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end, a substrate axial length extending from the inlet end to the outlet end and a plurality of passages defined by internal walls of the substrate extending therethrough; and a coating disposed on the surface of the internal walls of the substrate, wherein the surface de-fines the interface between the passages and the internal walls, wherein the coating comprises a platinum group metal component supported on a first oxidic material and further comprises a mixed oxide of vanadium and one or more of iron, erbium, bismuth, cerium, europium, gadolinium, holmium, lanthanum, lutetium, neodymium, praseodymium, promethium, samarium, scandium, terbium, thulium, ytterbium, yttrium, molybdenum, tungsten, manganese, cobalt, nickel, copper, aluminum and antimony, wherein the mixed oxide is supported on a second oxidic material.

The method comprises the steps of:
removing the first exhaust aftertreatment component from the first sleeve, the first sleeve thereby remaining intact within the outer casing,
providing a second exhaust aftertreatment component being mounted in a second sleeve, the second sleeve being configured to fit within the first sleeve, and
mounting the second sleeve with the second exhaust aftertreatment component in the first sleeve by inserting the second sleeve into the first sleeve in the axial direction thereof.-

摘要: A ceramic honeycomb structure having a web structure including a plurality of intersecting channel walls forming channels. The ceramic honeycomb structure has a total porosity greater than or equal to about 55%, an average channel wall thickness less than or equal to about 150 μm, a median pore diameter greater than or equal to about 10 μm, a df less than or equal to about 0.45, where df=(d50−d10)/d50, and a strength (MOR/CFA) greater than or equal to about 900 psi. A method of manufacturing a ceramic honeycomb structure by mixing a ceramic precursor batch composition having a median particle diameter less than or equal to about 10 μm and at least one starch-based pore former having a median particle diameter greater than or equal to about 10 μm. The method also includes forming a mixture of ceramic precursor batch composition and a starch-based pore former into a green ceramic structure having a web structure, and firing the green ceramic structure to yield a ceramic honeycomb structure.

摘要: In a method of making a gaseous emissions treatment component, a ‘green’ ceramic mix is extruded through a die to form an extrusion having cells extending along the extrusion, the cells being bounded by walls dividing adjacent cells from one another. In concert with the extruding, metal is fed through the die with the extruded mix. A length of the extrusion and associated metal is then cut off and fired to form the component.

摘要: A particulate filter and method of manufacture. The particulate filter includes intersecting walls that define longitudinally extending channels The intersecting walls comprise a porous ceramic material having a bare microstructure that comprises an interconnected network of porous spheroidal ceramic beads that has an open intrabead porosity within the beads and an interbead porosity defined by interstices between the beads. Catalyst particles are deposited at least partially within the intrabead porosity within the interbead porosity. The bare microstructure has a bimodal pore size distribution in which an intrabead median pore size of the intrabead porosity is less than an interbead median pore size of the interbead porosity. The filter has a trimodal pore size distribution comprising a first peak corresponding to the interbead porosity, a second peak corresponding to the intrabead porosity, and a third peak corresponding to the intrabead porosity as blocked by the catalyst particles.
