A method of operating a hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engine. The engine is determined to have a mode control value, which represents a threshold torque. During operation of the engine, a demanded torque of the internal combustion engine is determined and compared to the threshold torque. If the demanded torque is less than the threshold torque, the engine is operated in a low load mode that uses spark ignition and pre-mixed combustion. If the demanded torque is greater than the threshold torque, the engine is operated in a high load mode that uses compression ignition and diffusion combustion.

When partial compression ignition combustion is carried out, the ignition control section causes an ignition plug to carry out: main ignition in which a spark is generated in a late period of a compression stroke or an initial period of an expansion stroke to initiate SI combustion; and preceding ignition in which the spark is generated at earlier timing than the main ignition. Also, when the partial compression ignition combustion is carried out, the injection control section causes an injector to inject fuel at such timing that the fuel exists in a cylinder at an earlier time point than the preceding ignition. Ignition timing of the preceding ignition is set to be more retarded when fuel concentration specified by a fuel concentration specification section is low than when the fuel concentration is high.

Set forth herein are apparatuses and systems that utilize high temperature fuel injection to eliminate knocking within a combustion systems, and more particularly internal combustion engines. In some embodiments, the combustion system of the present invention can eliminate knocking through the use of high compression ratios and high intake boost pressures. The combustion system can have a high exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) tolerance, as well as an increased range of fuel-air ratio with improved ignitability and increased combustion speed of the system. In some embodiments, combustion in the present invention takes place using a compression ignition process, a spark assisted compression ignition process or a combination thereof.

There is provided a flow divider system in a hydraulic circuit for a work machine including a boom cylinder and a bucket cylinder. The flow divider system divides a pressured oil drained from a one-boom cylinder into an other-bucket cylinder and a tank via a first orifice, a second orifice and a flow dividing valve, maintaining a specified pressure difference between pressures downstream the first and second orifices. The first and second orifice are configured of a variable orifice respectively, and in the event that the oil flow from the one-boom chamber decreases, respective opening degrees of the first and second orifices are controlled so as to be reduced. Accordingly, changing of a divisional ratio of oil flow can be suppressed properly regardless of a small oil flow drained from the boom cylinder.
