摘要: A mixing structure can include a body having first conduits, mixture conduits, and second conduits extending through the body to the internal volume. The first conduits may be closer to a first side of the body than the mixture conduits and the second conduits. The second conduits may closer to another side of the body than the first conduits and the mixture conduits. The internal volume may receive liquid streams from an injector. The first conduits and the second conduits may receive gas streams from outside the body. The body may thermally modify the gas streams and entrain the gas streams into the liquid streams in the internal volume. The mixture conduits may be positioned to direct the gas streams entrained into the liquid streams out of the body in directions directed toward the second side of the body and away from the first side of the body.

A two-stroke internal combustion engine having an Atkinson ratio A and a compression ratio RC, the compression ratio having a value in the range from 19 to 30, and an Atkinson ratio selected such that the product of Atkinson ratio and compression ratio is near to and generally greater than 36. The best values of this product, ARC, vary slightly with the choice of compression ratio according to the following relationship: ARC≥36.33+8788e−0.375Rc. The engine includes a conventional exhaust valve and may include a high ratio of stroke length to bore, or may be of an opposed piston construction.

摘要: In one aspect, an engine ignition apparatus for a natural gas engine may include a housing including a drive piston, a floating piston, a controllable hydraulic fluid chamber located between the drive piston and the floating piston, and an ignition chamber acted on by the floating piston, the ignition chamber having an outlet formed by a plurality of orifices, the outlet being in direct communication with a combustion chamber of the engine. In another aspect, an engine ignition apparatus for a natural gas engine may include, among other features, a controllable valve connected to a hydraulic fluid chamber, and configured to open and release a hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic fluid chamber, and to close. In still another aspect, a method for controlling an engine ignition apparatus for an engine includes, among other features, controlling a volume of a hydraulic fluid chamber of an ignition apparatus.

摘要: A diesel engine system is provided, which includes a piston having a cavity dented downwardly in a crown surface thereof and having a bottom part, a peripheral part dented so as to be convex radially outward, and a lip part formed above the peripheral part and protruding so as to be convex radially inward in a cross-sectional view. An injection controller causes an injector to perform, during operation in a given operating range, a main injection in which injected fuel is directed to the lip part, and an after-injection in which a smaller amount of the fuel than the main injection is injected at a given timing later than the main injection in an expansion stroke. An injection interval period from an end of the main injection to a start of the after-injection is shorter as a temperature parameter related to a progress of a warmup of engine increases.

摘要: A control device for a compression ignition engine is provided, which causes an injector to perform a pre-injection and a main injection, sets fuel injection timings of these injections so that an interval between a first peak of a heat release rate resulting from the combustion of fuel injected by the pre-injection and a second peak of the heat release rate resulting from the combustion of fuel injected by the main injection becomes an interval to make pressure waves caused by these combustions cancel each other out, and when an increase of a wall surface temperature of a combustion chamber is detected, controls the injector to reduce the injection amount and retard the injection timing of the pre-injection compared with a case where the temperature increase is not detected, under a condition that engine load and speed are the same.
