    摘要: Methods and systems are provided for detecting cylinder-to-cylinder air-fuel ratio (AFR) imbalance in engine cylinders. In one example, a method may include detecting an AFR imbalance of an engine cylinder based on an individual crankshaft acceleration of the cylinder relative to a mean crankshaft acceleration produced by all cylinders of the engine, and correcting a fuel amount of the cylinder via a fuel multiplier value, the fuel multiplier value selected from a plurality of fuel multiplier values based on an imbalance source. In this way, the AFR imbalance may be accurately detected and correcting using existing engine system sensors.

    摘要: In a first illustrative embodiment, a processor operably programmed and configured to receive input defining one or more vehicle parameters to monitor and control during a vehicle rental. The processor may monitor and control the vehicle parameters during a vehicle rental period starting when an authorized user keylessly activates a vehicle during a defined start time. The processor may control driver behavior by limiting vehicle performance based on a predefined threshold of one or more vehicle parameters. The monitoring and control may continue until the rental period has expired or when the vehicle is returned to a predetermined geographic area designated by the vehicle owner. The processor may initiate wireless communication of the vehicle parameters to a vehicle rental administrative system through a cellular telephone located in proximity to the vehicle.

    摘要: The present disclosure relates to an engine in which compression and expansion is performed in the same cylinder. Also disclosed is a microprocessor for controlling the state of various valves in the cylinder—including an intake valve, a transfer valve, and an exhaust valve—to cause a compression or expansion to occur. A compression tank is provided for receiving, via the transfer valve, compressed air, which may be retrieved during an expansion (combustion) cycle. Compressed air for from multiple consecutive compressions may be stored in the tank and retrieved later, including for multiple consecutive expansions. Compression and expansion are not required to occur in any fixed or predetermined pattern and the microprocessor may evaluate vehicle sensors to determine a power demand, and cause compression or expansion to occur depending on the given power demand.
