    Abstract: An off-road vehicle includes a control module which limits power source rotational speed beneath a controlled rotational speed value based both on whether a protection device such as a safety belt is engaged or disengaged and on whether the vehicle velocity is greater than or less than a velocity threshold. If the safety belt becomes disengaged while the power source is spinning above the controlled rotational speed value, the control module gradually and safely reduces power source rotational speed. If/when the safety belt becomes reengaged, the control module logic will ensure that the power source rotational speed is released from the controlled first value without immediate change in vehicle response. The invention effectively reduces safety hazards of safety belt disengagement while not creating safety hazards of its own in a wide range of discussed situations.

    Abstract: A generator set for a transport climate control unit is provided that is operable at a first frequency and a second frequency. The generator set includes a generator, a prime mover configured to operate at a first non-zero speed and a second non-zero speed that is less than the first non-zero speed, and a genset controller configured to control operation of the generator set. When operating at the first non-zero speed, the genset controller is configured to monitor a prime mover load parameter to determine whether the prime mover is approaching or has exceeded an overload or stall situation. The genset controller is configured to reduce the speed of the prime mover from the first non-zero speed to the second non-zero speed to prevent the overload or stall situation.

    Abstract: A first method of protecting an engine and a transmission of a marine vessel during gear shifts and a second method of programming one or more Shift Protection Sequences (SPS) are disclosed. The first method includes receiving a Shift Request (SR) and activating a SPS from among a plurality of enabled SPS. The second method includes configuring a Shift Protection Type (SPT); enabling and configuring a plurality of required and SPS variables; and, optionally, enabling and configuring a plurality of optional SPS variables. The SPT may be a Basic Shift Protection (BSP), which includes time-based SPS; or the SPT may be an Advanced Shift Protection (ASP), which includes alternate time-based and operating-variable based SPS. The SPS of the ASP may be incrementally programmed and added to the BSP.

    Abstract: A roadway sweeper vehicle includes one or more processors and a control console allowing the vehicle operator to select one of a plurality of available engine speeds. A power increase assist feature is available through a throttle (e.g., pedal) that provides an increased power output of the vehicle engine for a momentary or transient period of time. The additive engine speed may be calculated based on a detected position of the throttle or determined from a lookup table based on the user-selected engine speed. Related methods are also described.

    Abstract: Constant-speed-travel-apparatus controlling prime-mover so that mobile-body mounted with the prime-mover travels at constant-speed, includes: function-operation-member being instructed activation of speed-maintaining-function of the mobile-body in response to operation by operator; first-speed-operation-member being instructed the travel-speed of the mobile-body in accordance with operation-amount by the operator; second-speed-operation-member being instructed change of the travel-speed by predetermined amount in response to operation by the operator in state where activation of the speed-maintaining-function has been instructed through the function-operation-member; and electronic-control-unit controlling output of the prime-mover based on the operation-amount of the first-speed-operation-member and number of times of operation of the second-speed-operation-member so that the mobile-body travels at constant-speed in the state. The electronic-control-unit deactivates the speed-maintaining-function and controls the output of the prime-mover based on the travel-speed instructed through the first-speed-operation-member when the operation-amount of the first-speed-operation-member exceeds predetermined operation-amount in the state.
