Abstract: A method of controlling water injection in an internal combustion engine for a motor vehicle in case of freezing cold weather. The method includes: controlling the quality of the water, having a first sub-step of disapproving the quality of the water if the electrical conductivity σ of the water is not zero nor close to zero when the temperature T of the water is 0° C. or less and a second sub-step of approving the quality of the water if the electrical conductivity σ of the water is zero or close to zero when the temperature T of the water is higher than −4° C., preferably higher than −2° C. The method further includes a second sub-step of preventing water injection if the quality of the water is disapproved and a third step of allowing water injection if the quality of the water is approved.

Abstract: A split cycle internal combustion engine comprises a combustion cylinder and a compression cylinder arranged to receive air and compress the air to provide a compressed working fluid to the combustion cylinder for combustion. The compression cylinder is coupled to a water reservoir. The engine further comprises a controller arranged to receive an indication of at least one parameter associated with the engine and/or a fluid associated therewith, and control delivery of the mass of water delivered to the compression cylinder based on the indication of the at least one parameter such that the total mass of water in the compressed working fluid at the end of the compression stroke results in a level of water concentration in the compressed working fluid that is less than a threshold water concentration level.

Abstract: An exchangeable filter of a treatment device has a housing with a housing pot and a housing cover connected to the open side of the housing pot. The exchangeable filter is connectable to a connecting head of the treatment device with a bayonet-type connecting device. The connecting device has a housing connecting part on the housing interacting with a head connecting part of the connecting head for connecting the connecting device. The housing has an inlet for a fluid to be treated connectable to a supply conduit of the treatment head and an outlet for the treated fluid connectable to a discharge conduit of the treatment head. The housing pot has a rim at the open side of the housing pot. The rim radially outwardly surrounds the housing connecting part and axially projects past the housing connecting part in a direction away from the housing bottom.

Abstract: An electrolysis system includes an injector with a conical tapered resonant capacitor wave-guide forming two voltage zones of polarity. An anode probe establishes a positive charge reaction of a capacitive voltage region. An anode exciter component has a conically tapered tip with a tapering diameter that diminishes toward a tip end and determines a guide path through the injector for a dielectric medium. A cathode probe is retained within the anode probe for establishing a negative charge reaction of the capacitive voltage region. A cathode exciter component includes a cathode tapered tip conically parallel with the anode conically tapered tip. The anode and cathode end portions form a compression exiting nozzle port. The compression exiting nozzle port receives a mixture of water mist and fuel gases to focus the mixture into a trigger zone of fuel gas combustion, which triggers an electrolysis reaction in the water mist.

Abstract: A fuel pump for a liquid fuel water injection system of a motor vehicle is provided. The fuel pump includes a low-pressure pump that mixes water from a water tank of the motor vehicle with liquid fuel from a fuel tank of the motor vehicle to a liquid fuel water emulsion and provides the liquid fuel water emulsion at a low pressure. A high-pressure pump is in fluid communication with the low-pressure pump and compresses the liquid fuel water emulsion from the low pressure to a high pressure for injecting the liquid fuel water emulsion into an internal combustion engine of the motor vehicle via an injection rail of the motor vehicle. A pump drive drives the low-pressure pump and the high-pressure pump synchronously with a pump frequency independently from an engine speed of the internal combustion engine of the motor vehicle.
