    摘要: A spark plug assembly includes a housing having an inner wall defining a bore, the housing having an open end connected to the bore, a ceramic insulator disposed within the bore and having a conical nose extending from the open end, an insulator electrode extending from the conical nose, a ground electrode coupled to and extending from the housing, wherein a spark gap is defined between the insulator electrode and the ground electrode, and a volume defined between the housing inner wall and an outer wall of the conical nose. The volume includes (i) a primary cavity, and (ii) a wide recirculation cavity defining a curved path such that gas flow entering the volume is received therein in a first direction and redirected in a second opposite direction to create an cooling airflow along the ceramic insulator and reduce a risk of low speed pre-ignition.

    摘要: An engine ignition shutdown module includes a voltage regulator circuit connected to a key switch, and a pair of isolated MOSFET driver circuits connected to the voltage regulator circuit. Each MOSFET driver circuit charges a capacitor while the key switch is in a run position and the interlock switches are closed, and each capacitor discharges through a resistor for a time delay period once the key switch is moved from the run position to an off position or at least one of the interlock switches are opened. A pair of high voltage output MOSFET transistors are switched on while the capacitors discharge and provide an output to a magneto ignition for the time delay period.

    摘要: When an ECU applies to an igniter a plurality of pulse signals, the duty ratio of which is lower than a predetermined duty ratio, as a lock release signal, a latch circuit of a lock inhibition circuit stops applying a shut-off signal to a shut-off circuit thereby to release a lock condition of an IGBT. A drive main circuit thus restarts current supply to the IGBT. A condition detection circuit outputs to the ECU a condition signal corresponding to the current supplied while the IGBT is turned on.

    摘要: An engine revolution limiter system is utilized to limit engine speed during a break-in period. The system provides for programming a variable break-in period and a variable selectable engine revolution limit. During the break-in period, if the revolution limit is exceeded by the engine speed, firing of the ignition is limited. In addition, the system provides for an over revolution limit wherein the ignition stops firing if the over revolution limit is exceeded. In addition, multiple break-in periods may be programmed with different associated revolution limits and over revolution limits. This provides for gradually increasing the allowable engine speed as the engine has been operating for greater periods of time.

    摘要: A combustion state detector apparatus for an internal combustion engine has a current detection device for detecting a current flowing between the ignition plug and a ground, and an ignition driving device for driving the ignition plug on the basis of an ignition instruction signal from an electronic control device of the internal combustion engine. An independent unit including a current detection device and an ignition driving device, is provided for each cylinder of the internal combustion engine. With respect to each cylinder, the apparatus determines whether a misfire has occurred on the basis of the current flowing between the ignition plug and the ground at the time of combustion. The apparatus is also capable of detecting abnormalities and/or wire breakages in a signal system provided for signal transmission between each independent unit and the electronic control device of the internal combustion engine.
