摘要: An ignition coil control system may include first and second ignition coils, and a spark plug including a pair of electrodes in which generates spark discharge by discharge currents of the first ignition coil and the second ignition coil, a DC-DC converter connected to a primary coil of the first ignition coil, a primary coil of the second ignition coil and a battery; in which converts current magnitude supplied to a primary coil of the first ignition coil and a primary coil of the second ignition coil from a battery, and a controller in which controls the spark discharge of the electrodes by adjusting an amount and a duration of the discharge current of the first ignition coil and the second ignition coil base on a pulse signal, wherein the controller is configured to selectively execute a multi-state ignition through the first ignition coil and the second ignition coil and a single-stage ignition through one of the first ignition coil and the second ignition coil according to an operation region of an engine.

摘要: Energization abnormality of a switch element of an internal combustion engine ignition device is detected appropriately. To this end, in an internal combustion engine ignition device that includes an ignition coil and an ignition plug, the ignition coil includes a primary coil including a main primary coil and a sub primary coil and a secondary coil that generates secondary current in response to a voltage variation generated in the primary coil. The internal combustion engine ignition device includes a main switch element that performs energization/deenergization of the main primary coil in a first direction, a sub primary coil magnetic flux generation state switching unit capable of switching between a forward direction magnetic flux generation state in which energization of the sub primary coil in the first direction is performed and an opposite direction magnetic flux generation state in which energization of the sub primary coil in a second direction is performed, and an abnormality detection section that detects energization abnormality to the sub primary coil. The abnormality detection section is configured so as to detect energization abnormality on the basis of overlap between energization in the first direction and energization in the second direction of the sub primary coil.

摘要: A current control circuit for an ignition system (i.e., igniter current limiter) is disclosed. The current control circuit can reduce a coil current over a soft shut down (SSD) period using an insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) that is controlled by a negative feedback loop, which controls the current limit of the IGBT according to a SSD profile. In order to prevent an unwanted current rise during the soft shut down period, the current control circuit compares a gate voltage of the IGBT to a reference signal and based on the comparison can enable the SSD profile to include a fast ramp. The fast ramp quickly lowers the current limit of the IGBT so that the coil current equals the current limit and can be controlled by the negative feedback loop.

摘要: In an implementation, a method of operating an ignition circuit can include enabling a charge path control circuit and a switch circuit to charge a primary winding of an ignition coil of the ignition circuit until a threshold current is reached in the primary winding. After reaching the threshold current in the primary winding, the method can include maintaining a current in the primary winding of the ignition coil in correspondence with a current limit by alternatively activating and deactivating the charge path control circuit complementary to alternative activation and deactivation of a circulating-current path control circuit. During the maintaining the current in the primary winding, the method can include initiating a spark in a spark plug included in the ignition circuit, the initiating the spark including controlling an amount of energy delivered from the primary winding to a secondary winding of the ignition coil.

摘要: Provided is a vehicle control device with which improved fuel economy and lowered exhaust gas emissions can be effectively achieved without adversely affecting the driver when traveling while following a leading vehicle. The present invention has: a following-determination means that, during travel while following a leading vehicle, determines, on the basis of the speed of the host vehicle, the speed of the leading vehicle, and the distance from the leading vehicle, whether the host vehicle will be able to follow the leading vehicle by coasting; and an idle stop determination means that, when the following-determination means has determined that the host vehicle will be able to follow the leading vehicle by coasting, and the driving/travel state of the host vehicle satisfies other traveling idle stop criteria, determines that a traveling idle stop should be performed; and is provided with a determination criteria updating means for updating the determination criteria for the idle stop determination means in regard to criteria such as the leading vehicle characteristics, road surface conditions, and weather. In the event that it has been determined, from the determination conditions that have been updated in regard to the leading vehicle characteristics, etc., that following by coasting is possible, a control to shut off the on-board engine is performed.
