摘要: An apparatus that floats at the surface of a body of water over which waves pass, causing a nominally vertical axis of the apparatus to tilt away from an axis normal to the resting surface of the body of water. Tilting allows a fluid to flow through a channel that in an un-tilted apparatus would require the gravitational potential energy of the fluid to increase (i.e., to flow uphill), but, because of the tilt allows the fluid to flow through the channel in a downhill direction. Successive wave-driven tilts of the apparatus incrementally raise water to a head from which a portion of its gravitational potential energy can be converted to electrical power by causing the water to return to a lower level by flowing through a water turbine, or through some other apparatus that performs a useful function when supplied with a flow of high-pressure water.

摘要: A wave energy capturing device arranged to capture and convert wave energy to useful energy when positioned in an operating mode. The device includes a pivot point and a buoyant wave energy absorber affixed to the pivot point. The device has an operating mode where the device is arranged to capture wave energy. In the operating mode the pivot point is supported above the surface of a body of water and is held substantially stationary relative to wave movement. The buoyant absorber is engaged with the surface of the body of water at an operating location positioned downwave of the pivot point and wherein the absorber is arranged to rotate about the pivot point. The rotation defining a rotation arc of the absorber along which the absorber is arranged to reciprocate in the operating mode. The disclosure aims to provide improved capture of wave energy for conversion to useful energy.

摘要: A system includes a float including a drivetrain, a reaction structure coupled to the drivetrain by a tendon, and an extension spring having a first end coupled to a fixed point on the tendon and a second end configured to be disposed at a fixed location relative to the drivetrain. The extension spring is configured to experience an elastic force in response to tension on the first end of the extension spring away from the drivetrain.

摘要: An adjustable multi-functional bottom-hinged flap-type wave energy utilization device includes at least three wave energy conversion devices arranged in parallel and with adjustable spacing. Each wave energy conversion device includes a wave energy conversion component, a direction adjustment component for adjusting a wave-facing direction of the wave energy conversion component, and a height adjustment component for adjusting a height of the wave energy conversion component. The wave energy conversion component includes a mounting base plate, a transmission shaft arranged on the mounting base plate, a wave energy flap that can drive the transmission shaft to rotate, a generator connected to the transmission shaft, a hydraulic oil cylinder positioned on a back surface of the flap for pushing the flap to reset, and a wave monitor arranged on the mounting base plate for monitoring a draught and a wave direction angle of the flap.

摘要: A turbine comprises a shaft (20), a mass (10) eccentrically mounted for rotation about shaft (20), having its center of gravity at a distance from the shaft (20) and a motion base (15). Motion base (15) rigidly supports the shaft (20), and is configured for moving the shaft (20) in any direction of at least two degrees of movement freedom, except for heave.
A floating vessel-turbine (120), encloses entirely the eccentrically rotating mass (10) and the motion base (15). The turbine converts ocean wave energy into useful energy, very efficiently.

摘要: A wave energy converter comprises a power generator, characterized by an axial length along a longitudinal axis; the power generator being configured to tilt about a horizontal axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The tilt results in a conversion of kinetic energy, present in a group of water waves causing the tilt, to electrical energy. The axial length is less than approximately one quarter of the average wavelength expected to be encountered in a dominant sub-group of waves within the group of waves. The power generator generates power independent of whether or not the wave energy converter is tethered to any solid object at a position that is fixed independent of water motion.
