    Abstract: An air-preparation device for a motor vehicle, including: at least one first compressed air connection and a second compressed air connection; and a first air-preparation component and a second air-preparation component; wherein the first air-preparation component has at least one first solenoid valve, a second solenoid valve and a third solenoid valve, a first air drier cartridge, a first main nonreturn valve, a first regeneration nonreturn valve, a first regeneration throttle and a first inlet valve, wherein the second air-preparation component has at least one second air drier cartridge, a second main nonreturn valve, a second regeneration nonreturn valve, a second regeneration throttle and a second inlet valve, wherein the first solenoid valve and the second solenoid valve are for controlling the first air-preparation component, and wherein a control line is configured so that the second air-preparation component is connected to the third solenoid valve of the first air-preparation component.

    Abstract: An air supply unit for a pneumatic system is provided herein. The unit includes a compressor inlet for receiving compressed air in a supply mode. The unit further includes a consumption outlet for connecting at least one consumption circuit. The unit further includes an air processing unit connected to the compressor inlet for drying and filtering the compressed air and delivering dried compressed air at its outlet. The unit further includes a supply line extending from the outlet to the consumption outlet. The unit further includes a purge tank connected to the supply line. The purge tank is connected to the supply line through a throttle for pressure reduction of the purge air. In order to realize a short filling time, the purge tank is further connected to the supply line by a filling valve. The filling valve is open in the supply mode and blocking in the purge mode.

    Abstract: An air preparation device having an electronic control unit for supplying at least one load circuit of a vehicle with dried system air, includes an air dryer unit for drying compressed air produced by an pneumatically switchable compressor. The air dryer unit supplies the at least one load circuit with dried compressed air via at least one overflow valve. An electromagnetic regeneration valve is provided which is connected to the control unit and returns dried compressed air along a regeneration path through the air dryer unit in order to regenerate the air dryer unit. An electromagnetic compressor control valve is provided which is connected to the control unit, for switching the pneumatically switchable compressor on and off via a pneumatic switching port, on the basis of a system pressure measurement value determined by at least one pressure sensor and supplied to the electronic control unit as an input signal. For redundant pneumatic compressor activation, a pneumatically pilot-controlled further compressor control valve is provided, to which the system pressure or a pressure proportional thereto is applied at a control inlet in order to switch on the compressor by activation of the pneumatic switching port after the system pressure has dropped below a lower limit value.

With respect to the compressed-air supply system, according to the invention, a pressure-holding pneumatic reservoir device is connected to the pilot connection point, which reservoir device is designed to provide a control pressure for the pilot connection point, in particular independently of a pressure in the pneumatic main line during venting of the pneumatic system, and the pressure-holding pneumatic reservoir device has at least one separate pilot pressure accumulator, which can be pneumatically connected to the pilot connection point via the control line.

    Abstract: A compressed-air feed system for operating a pneumatic system includes a compressed-air supply, a compressed-air connection to the pneumatic system, at least one ventilation connection to surroundings, and a pneumatic main line between the compressed-air supply and the compressed-air connection. The pneumatic main line has an air dryer and a regeneration throttle. The compressed-air feed system further includes a first ventilation line between the pneumatic main line and the at least one ventilation connection. The first ventilation line has a first ventilation valve and a ventilation throttle. The compressed-air feed system additionally includes a second ventilation line between the compressed-air connection and the at least one ventilation connection. The second ventilation line has a second ventilation valve formed as a 2/2 directional valve. The compressed-air feed system is designed to provide an operating mode in which the second ventilation valve is open over a predetermined time period.

    Abstract: A compressed-air drying system includes an air dryer, an oil mist separator and a reservoir. The air dryer includes desiccant and a drain port for draining liquid generated through regeneration of the desiccant. The oil mist separator includes a trapping portion for trapping oil contained, as oil mist, in the compressed air. The oil mist separator further includes a drain port for draining liquid containing the trapped oil. The oil mist separator is provided in a passage between the compressor and the air dryer. The reservoir stores the liquid drained from the air dryer and the liquid drained from the oil mist separator. The drain port of the air dryer and the drain port of the oil mist separator are connected to the reservoir.

    Abstract: A twin chamber air dryer for a pneumatic system of a commercial vehicle comprises: a supply inlet port, a supply outlet, a compressor control outlet, and an exhaust outlet; a first desiccant cartridge and a second desiccant cartridge, to be operated alternately; a toggling valve assembly for switching between the first and second desiccant cartridges; a pneumatically controlled purge valve switchable between a blocking basic position and an activated position; and a solenoid valve assembly. The solenoid valve assembly comprises a directional control solenoid valve for receiving an electrical direction control signal and controlling the toggling valve assembly, a regeneration solenoid valve for receiving an electrical regeneration control signal and providing pressurized air in regeneration phases of the desiccant cartridge, and a governor solenoid valve for receiving an electrical governor control signal and controlling the purge valve and a compressor mode.
