    摘要: A fastener for assembling at least two structural elements having an aperture, may have a fastener comprising an enlarged head (12) and a shank (14) exhibiting, prior to fitting, an outside diameter (D1) greater than an inside diameter (DS) of the aperture, and a locking portion comprising a screw thread or annular grooves. The fastener further comprises a lubricating sacrificial ring (40) on the exterior surface of the fastener, extending at least between a distal end of the shank and a proximal end of the locking portion, said ring having, before the fastener is fitted into the structure, an outside diameter greater than a diameter of the aperture. The sacrificial ring comprises a polymer resin forming a matrix encapsulating dispersant molecules and oil molecules.
    The fastener assembly may apply to the assembly of aircraft structures.

    摘要: A metallic fastener has a threaded portion coated with a composition. The composition includes (a) a paraffin wax with a melting temperature in the range of 50 to 70° C. (b) 1 to 5 parts by weight (pbw) of a resin per pbw of paraffin wax, (c) 0.1 to 0.25 pbw graphite per pbw of paraffin wax, and (d) 0.05 to 0.30 pbw of an FDA-approved silica per pbw of paraffin wax. A process for coating the metallic fastener includes: (i) providing the composition as defined above, (ii) maintaining the fastener or bringing it to a temperature in the range of 30 to 70° C., (iii) applying the composition at a temperature in the range of 100 to 170° C., (iv) optionally, removing surplus composition, (v) cooling the fastener to less than 100° C., (vi) finishing the fastener in a water bath, and (vii) drying the fastener.

    摘要: An electromagnetic effect suppressing termination part for a fastener formed of a metallic material, the fastener having a head, a shank, and a male threaded portion opposite the head, has a metallic core coated by a layer of dielectric material. An internal bore of the termination part includes an inner wall, a counterbore hole, and a cavity disposed therebetween. An outer surface includes an outer wall, and a frustoconical wall positioned proximally relative to the outer wall, the frustoconical wall extending radially outwardly from the outer wall and having an included angle of less than approximately 90 degrees. A seal is disposed in the counterbore hole, and the frustoconical wall is configured so that a compressive force applied to the frustoconical wall deforms the inner wall to conform to the male threaded portion of the fastener and deforms the seal to fill the cavity.

    摘要: It has become apparent that the dimensions of inbuilt-collar driving means of the same nominal size may vary according to the method of manufacture. The dimensions of the collar must therefore be adapted to suit the mode of manufacture, at the expense of its strength or mass. Moreover, the transmissible torque for tightening and loosening operations varies according to a useful wrenching height. In order to have a useful height identical to the height of the shank (7), the idea underlying the invention involves pushing the frustoconical collar (152) of a driving means (151) in towards its center along the extension of the sides of the shank. The inbuilt-collar driving means proposed by the invention is suited to all modes of manufacture, and can be manufactured without adversely affecting the dimensions of the driving means or its installation.
