    摘要: An improved end fitting for push-pull blade controls is formed of two tubes connected together by a swivel joint. One tube of the compound fitting is attachable to an end of the tubular sheath of the control and anchors the ends of ball races of the control. The other tube of the compound fitting houses a reciprocative end rod connectable to an end of the push-pull blade that extends fully through the tube attached to the sheath and through the swivel joint. A simple but effective swivel joint is formed by an outwardly flared end of one tube movably captured in an inwardly flared end of the other tube. Thus, while the tube attached to the sheath of the control is installed in a fixed position, the other tube with the end-rod is deflectable.

    摘要: The precision longitudinal movement transmission cable, includes a tubular casing (T) and a cylindrical central core (N) contained in the tubular casing (T) and having a plurality of radial projections (5) extending longitudinally over the entire core length and being provided with a central metal cable (4) for axial reinforcement. The longitudinally extending radial projections define a plurality of longitudinally extending equidistant channel-like grooves (6) and the cylindrical central core (N) fits in the tubular casing (T) so that it can slide and rotate. The transmission cable is also provided with a retaining device in each of the channel-like grooves (6) providing partitioning walls defining a plurality of compartments (9) of equal compartment length arranged in longitudinal succession along each of the channel-like grooves (6); and a plurality of balls(10), each of the balls being located in one of the compartments (9) of the channel-like grooves (6) and being dimensioned so that the balls can move snugly along an inner surface of the tubular casing (T) and in the channel-like groove (6) along the entire compartment length of the compartment (9) when the central core (N) is moved longitudinally. The retaining device can be a metal wire (7) uniformly helically coiled around the central core (N).

    摘要: A serpentine tube inspection positioning spine formed from a plurality of identical links. Each link has a convex first end and concave second end spaced along the longitudinal axis of the link whereby adjacent links may be mated together. An axially extending bore in each link receives a continuous cable maintained under tension by a spring attached to one end of the cable. This places pressure on the links that serves to maintain the mated links in a rigid straight configuration while under compressive forces during insertion into a tube to be inspected. The resilience of the spring also allows pivoting of adjacent links for travelling through a bend in the tube.

    摘要: In each end fitting of a flexible remote control, improved anchoring of the outer ball races is achieved by attaching the end of one race to a fixed anchor which is at least partially cylindrical so that it can rotate in the fitting and by attaching the end of the other race to a slidable anchor which is in sliding contact with the race attached to the fixed anchor. The push-pull blade of the control passes through a slot in each of both anchors which help prevent bowing of the blade when subjected to a heavy push load.

    摘要: The disclosure pertains to a device for converting rotary motion to linear motion that enables the provision of high force over long distance at low speeds providing a force conversion ratio on the order of 200 to 1 or better operating at 80 to 95 percent efficiency, and that is self-compensating to overcome inertia, in which a shaft member and a tubular member are mounted in concentric telescoping relation, and a bearing unit in the form of inner and outer races and rolling bearings interposed therebetween is wedged between the two in eccentric relation thereto with one of the races serving as a rolling element and being formed with a spherically contoured surface that establishes an elongate rolling contact area with the member to be moved linearly, and a ball wedge lock is established between the member that is rotated and the race that serves as the rotating element of the bearing. The bearing unit is mounted in a fixed plane at an acute angle transversely of the device members and has the axis of rotation of its rotating race lying in the plane that includes the axis of rotation of the rotating member. The position of the area of rolling contact between the rolling race and the linearly movable member relative to said plane of said axes establishes the pitch of the device, and the bearing unit is spring-biased to maximum pitch position, it being selfcompensating to decrease pitch and increase the force conversion factor in overcoming inertia and moving heavy loads. Either the inner or the outer member may be rotated to provide linear movement of the other member, and in practice the bearing unit is employed as a set of three such units forming a bearing assembly arranged to balance the forces acting through the device. Several different specific embodiments are disclosed.
