    摘要: In a wedge type actuator assembly in which the cage assembly in which the rollers are captive is not captive to the wedge member, an aperture in the housing through which the cage assembly is inserted during assembly of the actuator is shaped to allow insertion of the cage assembly only when it is correctly orientated with respect to the housing. A washer provided with a shaped aperture to receive the wedge member is keyed against rotation in a circular aperture in the housing and the washer ensures that the wedge member cannot be inserted into the housing when it is misorientated by 90.degree. about its axis of movement.

    摘要: A braking assembly is disclosed comprising a shaft, a brake cage being rotatable with the shaft, an earth ring extending circumferentially around the brake cage, at least one engagement member coupled to the shaft, and a braking mechanism configured for selectively applying a force to the brake cage for slowing or preventing rotational movement of the brake cage such that the shaft rotates relative to the brake cage, and wherein the braking assembly is configured such that when the shaft rotates relative to the brake cage, said at least one engagement member is urged to engage the earth ring such that rotation of the shaft is inhibited or prevented. The earth ring may be replaced with an output shaft such that the assembly operates as a clutch assembly.

    摘要: A friction brake device has a brake rotor that rotates around an axis of rotation, brake pads that can rotate around an axis of autorotation parallel to the axis of rotation, support members that support the brake pads respectively, and pressing devices that press the brake pads against the brake rotor respectively. In the friction brake device, when the brake pads are pressed against the brake rotor, the brake pads revolve around the axis of rotation relatively to the brake rotor while being frictionally engaged with lateral faces of the brake rotor respectively. The support members press the brake pads in a direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation, and frictionally engage outer peripheries of the brake pads with a cylindrical face of the brake rotor respectively. The brake pads auto-rotate around the axis of autorotation upon beginning to be pressed, but come to rest when the pressing force increases.

    摘要: A reverse rotation prevention mechanism is provided on a torque transmission path between an output shaft and a driving shaft of a motor. The reverse rotation prevention mechanism includes: a first frictional force generation unit configured to inhibit a lock plate provided on the torque transmission path from rotating relative to another member when an external force is exerted on the output shaft; and a second frictional force generation unit configured to generate a braking force that prevents reverse rotation when an external force is exerted on the output shaft by causing a portion of the lock plate to be pressed. The first frictional force generation unit is provided in an area different from the second frictional force generation unit.

    摘要: A clutch brake assembly which may be used for roll up awnings and the like which will allow the roller on which the awning is rolled to freely rotate in one direction and be locked against rotation in the other direction, the directions of freewheeling rotation and locking being selectable by manual rotation of the cover between either of two toggle positions. The assembly includes a nonrotatable shaft extending through the assembly and fastened by arms to the side of a recreational vehicle or the like. Mounted on the shaft is a rotatable drum on which the awning is to be rolled and unrolled, that drum having a clutch drum attached thereto. Mounted within the clutch drum and rotatable with an actuating cover is a pair of substantially radially movable clutch shoes, each positioned with respect to one cam surface of a double acting cam fastened to the shaft. The actuating cover includes an overcenter toggle device operating in conjunction with the shaft to encourage the cover to either one of two stable positions, causing one or the other of the clutch shoes to engage the associated cam surface of the double acting cam to force the shoe firmly against the clutch drum. Rotation in one direction is allowed however, as such rotation allows the cam surface to release pressure on the clutch shoe, whereas attempted rotation in the opposite direction causing a locking action.

    摘要: A wedge actuated drum brake assembly uses a wedge-shaped actuating rod and a roller cage slidably mounted thereon to transmit actuating forces from a fluid pressure actuator to a pair of friction elements. The actuating rod and roller cage are provided with a compression spring between the rod and the roller cage and an extension spring between the roller cage and the housing within which the actuating rod and roller cage are movably mounted. The extension spring opposes the compression spring during initial movement of the actuating rod to thereby cancel the spring forces acting on the cage. A flexible boot interconnects the rod and the wall of the housing and includes a bead that is clamped with the end coil of the extension spring between a shoulder on the housing and a portion of the fluid pressure actuator that extends into the housing.
