    摘要: A fluid filled vibration-damping device includes an elastic body disposed between a first mounting member and a second mounting member and partially defines a fluid chamber having a non-compressible fluid sealed therein, and exhibits vibration damping action on the basis of flow action of the non-compressible fluid created within the fluid chamber during vibration input. At least one mounting member from among the first and second mounting members is formed independently of the elastic body and is disposed in abutment with the elastic body in an initial load acting direction, while making the mounting member displaceable away from the rubber elastic body in a opposite direction from the initial load acting direction. A rebound stop mechanism for limiting displacement of the mounting member away from the rubber elastic body in a cushion-wise fashion is disposed between the first and second mounting members.

    摘要: A vibration isolator assembly, such as an isolator bushing or cradle mount, includes a housing and an isolator connected to the housing. A shaft assembly includes first and second mating components, the first component being connected to the elastomer and having a cavity of a first dimension for receiving the second component having a different, second dimension therein. The differing dimensions alters the stress characteristics of the vibration isolator assembly. According to a preferred method of altering stress characteristics of a vibration isolator assembly, the method includes the steps of forming a cavity in the shaft and varying a dimension of the shaft to alter the spring rate characteristics. In the preferred arrangement, the shaft assembly includes a split, first component and a second component is inserted between the split portions to relieve tensile stress in the isolator and, if desired, to impart a compressive stress in the isolator.

    摘要: An improved and tight package vibration isolator assembly increases the strength of the mount structure without compromising the efficiency of the damping features. An exo-skeleton bracket design provides a rigid structural strength able to withstand extreme loads. The bracket also allows forces to bypass the fluid components of the damping assembly that are otherwise subject to potential passage of forces therethrough. The exo-skeleton bracket provides a stiff structure that substantially surrounds the damping assembly. Tuning of the assembly is also simplified through use of a travel limiter assembly, the cross-section of which may change in shape, or characteristics of a surrounding resilient sleeve selectively altered, to tune the damping characteristics of the damping assembly.

    摘要: The suspension strut of an embodiment of the invention includes a compressible fluid, a sleeve structure, a hydraulic tube adapted to contain a portion of the compressible fluid, a displacement rod and cavity piston coupled to the sleeve and adapted to move into the hydraulic tube upon the compression movement of the wheel and to move out of the hydraulic tube upon the rebound movement of the wheel, and a hydraulic seal located between the hydraulic tube and the displacement rod. The hydraulic tube defines a hydraulic cavity adapted to contain a portion of the compressible fluid and to cooperate with the compressible fluid to supply a suspending spring force that biases the wheel toward the surface.

    摘要: A column unit includes a fixed upright tube with a bottom upright-tube end and a top upright-tube end and a telescopic tube axially displaceably guided in the upright tube. A cylinder of a pneumatic spring is axially displaceably guided in the telescopic tube. A piston rod projecting out of the cylinder of the pneumatic spring has a free end fastened on the upright tube proximate the bottom upright-tube end. A carry-along stop of the cylinder of the pneumatic spring allows the telescopic tube to be carried along out of the upright tube when the pneumatic spring is moved axially. A securing element limits an axial movement of the telescopic tube out of the upright tube. The securing element is arranged on the upright tube and abuts the outer cylindrical lateral surface of the telescopic tube with radially inwardly directed resilient prestressing. A latching recess on the outer cylindrical lateral surface of the telescopic tube engages the securing element to latch into said latching recess when the telescopic tube has been moved out of the upright tube to a maximally withdrawn position.
