Abstract: An architecture for coupling the output of a prime mover to a rotationally driven device. The architecture includes a selectable switching device, a terminal output member and a torque transfer device having an intermediate output member. The selectable switching device is coupled to the output of the prime mover and is selectively and alternately coupled between first and second states; in the first state with the torque transfer device, whereby the torque transfer device is rotatably driven by the prime mover and the terminal output member is rotatably driven by the intermediate output member of the torque transfer device; and in the second state with the terminal output member, whereby the terminal output member is rotatably driven by the prime mover and the torque transfer device is rotatably disconnected from the prime mover and is not rotatably driven.

Abstract: A dual clutch power shift transmission is provided. The transmission includes an input shaft, a main shaft rotationally coupled to the input shaft, and an output shaft coupled to the input shaft. An odd shaft and an even shaft carry a plurality of gears. The gears define a predetermined gear ratio between the input shaft and output shaft. The odd shaft and even shaft are coupled to the input shaft via an odd clutch, and even clutch, and a master clutch. A forward clutch and a reverse clutch are interposed between the master clutch, odd clutch, and even clutch. The forward and reverse clutch are alternatively coupled to the input shaft. An intermediate shaft assembly, rotationally coupled to the gears, is interposed between the odd shaft and even shaft. An auxiliary shaft is interposed between the odd shaft and output shaft and carries range gears defining a predetermined gear ratio.

Abstract: A transmission includes a primary gear including primary teeth, each having a primary surface; a secondary gear including secondary teeth; an intermediate gear including intermediate teeth, each comprising a primary intermediate part having a primary intermediate surface and a secondary intermediate part having a secondary intermediate surface, where the primary intermediate part is axially offset from the secondary intermediate part. The intermediate gear is axially displaceable to an engaged position. The primary surface contacts the primary intermediate surface in a contact region and the secondary intermediate surface contacts one of the secondary teeth. In the engaged position, one primary tooth and one intermediate tooth form an overlap, radially inside the contact region, for preventing the intermediate gear from being displaced from the engaged position to a disengaged position.
