The power ports are configured so as to be couplable with respective rotating members of the decoupling clutch and of the electric machine by means of respective axially sliding couplings.

    摘要: A variable transmission may include a segmented pulley and a nested pulley located at least partially within the segmented pulley. The spacing between the components of the first segmented pulley may be varied to alter the transmission ratio of the variable transmission by altering the effective diameter of the segmented pulley. The nested pulley may also be a segmented pulley. In some embodiments, one of the pulleys may be rotationally fixed, and the variable transmission may comprise a compact infinitely variable transmission. The eccentricity of the compact infinitely variable transmission may be significantly less than the eccentricity of other infinitely variable transmission designs. In other embodiments, a nested pulley structure may be used to provide a compact continuously variable transmission.

    摘要: A transmission speed control system for a walk-behind lawn mower includes a transmission, a transmission positioning assembly, and an electronic control unit. The transmission is tiltable about and operably engaged with a drive axle shaft. The transmission positioning assembly tilts the transmission between first and second angular positions. A belt tension between a drive belt and a transmission pulley of the transmission continuously increases from a minimum belt tension when the transmission is in the first angular position to a maximum belt tension when the transmission is in the second angular position. The rotational drive force exerted on the drive axle shaft by the transmission and a resulting driving speed of the lawn mower vary proportionally with the belt tension. The electronic control unit controls the transmission positioning assembly to tilt the transmission based on target and detected driving speeds.

    摘要: A continuously variable transmission (CVT) system, which turns the rear wheels of a lawn mower or similar vehicle at different speeds in a coordinated method with the front steering wheels in order to achieve the best turning radius (including a tight or zero turn radius, if desired) under most conditions. The system comprises two stages: the first stage comprising a Fixed Center Distance CVT pulley system, and the second stage comprising dual CVTs (e.g., left and right) that input into dual gear reducers (left and right), which are mechanically connected to the rear wheels. The second stage dual CVTs (left and right) are synchronized with the steering wheel, thus achieving different rear wheel speeds and/or directions based on the steering wheel position.
