    Abstract: Implementations of a valve may include a flow tube having a seat and a channel for transporting a flow downstream from an inlet to an outlet, a magnet disposed circumferentially around the flow tube at a first location, a movable magnet disposed circumferentially around the flow tube, the movable magnet movable between the inlet of the flow tube and the first location, and a plug disposed in the channel, the plug movable between an open position and a closed position in which the plug abuts the seat. The movable magnet may be configured to move the plug between the open position and the closed position.

    Abstract: A device and method for shutting off fluid-flow in a pipe. The device includes a moveable sealing member inside a pipeline, a longitudinal spring configured to bias against the sealing member in a first direction, and a lateral spring at an angle to the longitudinal spring wherein the lateral spring is configured to bias against the sealing member in a second direction. The device includes a housing with a passage configured to be positioned inline with a pipeline, and a sealing seat. A locking element is biased against the sealing member using the lateral spring to maintain an open position with the sealing member off of the sealing seat. The locking element is configured to move from the sealing member upon a fluid overpressure in the passage, whereby the sealing member extends into the seal seat to close off the pipeline upon the overpressure.

    Abstract: A device for holding a hydraulic cylinder stem in position includes a hydraulic block having series-connected primary and secondary check valves. The latter includes a secondary control stem having a secondary valve body and a seal. A first throttle upstream and a second throttle downstream are closed in a secondary control stem closed position where the seal tightly blocks the secondary check valve, each throttle having a tiny throttle closing gap, preferably 0.1 mm or less. The control stem can move axially into an intermediate position where the throttles remain closed, that is, have a tiny closing gap, but valve body and seal are lifted from a secondary valve seat. The control stem can be moved further into an opening position where the throttles are open, each having an opening gap much larger than the closing gap, and the valve body and seal are lifted from the valve seat.

    Abstract: An artificial sphincter includes an inflatable occlusion means for occluding a body passage, a stretchable fluid reservoir, a pump means and an occlusion means. A pressurizing fluid is selectively transferred from the occlusion means to the reservoir for deflating the occlusion means so that a blocked body passage may be opened. The artificial sphincter also includes a semipermeable check valve which always allows fluid flow towards the stretchable fluid reservoir. A semipermeable check valve allows only a restricted fluid flow from the stretchable fluid reservoir. A pressure sensitive check valve is located in between the pressure compensation balloon and the lumen of the balloon holder. The pressure sensitive check valve always allows fluid flow from the pressure compensation balloon towards the lumen so that the fluid contained in the pressure compensation balloon is freely flowable towards the inflatable occlusion means.

    Abstract: To provide a simple-structured check valve unit that allows for retention of a seat relief in an attachment part of a plunger bore, facilitates production without increasing components, and prevents deformation of the plunger. The check valve unit includes the seat relief and a cap member. The plunger has an outlet relief hole in the attachment part for communication between the inside and outside of the plunger. The cap member includes a cap top, an oil flow portion, and a skirt wall. The skirt wall includes a plurality of outwardly raised contact surfaces and a plurality of inwardly raised contact surfaces. The circumscribed circle of the outwardly raised contact surfaces has a larger radius than the inside radius of the attachment part, and the inscribed circle of the inwardly raised contact surfaces has a smaller radius than the outside radius of an engaging part of the seat relief.
