Abstract: A system and method for calibrating flame current in a furnace is disclosed. The method includes initiating combustion within a combustion chamber by allowing flow of the fuel mixture to the combustion chamber; receiving, from a sensor, signals indicative of a flow rate of the air to the combustion chamber; receiving, from a flame rod sensor, signals indicative of a flame current of the combustion chamber; varying a flow rate of the air to the combustion chamber; receiving, from the flame rod sensor, responsive to varying flow rate of the air to the combustion chamber, signals indicative of a change in the flame current of the combustion chamber; and determining, based on varying flow rate of the air to the combustion chamber, and the change in flame current of the combustion chamber, a correlation between the flow rate of the air, and the flame current of the combustion chamber.

Abstract: A burner includes an atomizing chamber, a flame tube in front of the atomizing chamber adapted to direct combusting fuel introduced by the atomizing chamber along an interior of the flame tube, and a controller. The controller is programmed to independently control rate of fuel flow to the atomizing chamber, rate of atomizing air flow to the atomizing chamber, and rate of combustion air to the flame tub. The controller is also programmed to perform operations including regulating, based on output of a gas sensor, at least the rate of combustion air to the flame tube to substantially maintain a first predetermined amount of excess air in the flame tube.

Abstract: A combustion air proving (CAP) system for a burner assembly having a burner for providing heated air to a location, a controller, and a back plate, where outside air is fed to the burner via a conduit. The CAP system, is connected to an inlet of the system. An outlet of the system is connected to the burner via the back plate. A damper within the system is translatable between open and closed positions for allowing and blocking air flow, respectively. A sensor measures an air flow parameter of air flow to the burner. The sensor communicates with the controller, which shuts down the burner if the parameter measured by the sensor meets a predetermined threshold value. An assembly installer may test for proper sensor and controller functions by translating the damper to the closed position and blocking outside air flow.

Abstract: A combustion apparatus includes a combustion part, a blower fan, an ignition device, and a control part. The control part selectively performs continuous combustion in which the combustion part is operated to burn continuously and intermittent combustion in which a combustion period and a non-combustion period of the combustion part are repeatedly provided. When the continuous combustion is stopped, the control part extinguishes the combustion part and operates the blower fan to perform a scavenging operation. When the combustion period in the intermittent combustion is ended, the control part extinguishes the combustion part and operates the blower fan to perform a scavenging operation in the non-combustion period. A total air blowing amount of the blower fan in the scavenging operation during the non-combustion period is set to be less than a total air blowing amount of the blower fan in the scavenging operation when the continuous combustion is stopped.

Abstract: A multi-outlet channel combination gas valve includes a valve body, a solenoid valve and a flow regulating mechanism. The valve body has a multiple of air outlets, at least two outlet channels formed between each air outlet and an air inlet of the valve body, a regulating port disposed in the at least two outlet channels, and the flow regulating mechanism can regulate the gas flow passing through each regulating port of the valve body at the same time, and a solenoid valve with a dual-coil electromagnet structure. When the valve is opened, a relatively larger current is passed, and then a very small current will be provided thereafter to maintain an operation by low power consumption. Therefore, this gas valve can be used without a mains power, and a low-level regulating structure is provided for presetting a low-level flow of each air outlet.

Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a furnace wall in which a throat section with a smaller channel diameter than other regions can be formed using all peripheral wall tubes. Provided is a furnace wall comprising: a plurality of peripheral wall tubes (142), which are disposed so as to form a cylindrical shape when aligned in one direction and through the interior of which cooling water flows; and fins (140) that connect neighboring peripheral wall tubes (142) in an airtight manner. In a throat section in which the diameter of a horizontal cross-section of the cylindrical shape is reduced in comparison to other regions, the peripheral wall tubes (142) are disposed so as to be in mutual contact and the fins (140) are disposed on the inner circumferential sides of the cylindrical shapes.
