    摘要: A method and structure for operating a combustion system of a gas turbine engine to mitigate low frequency combustion acoustics is generally provided. The method includes flowing an oxidizer through a fuel nozzle passage defining an inner wall and an outer wall, in which each of the inner wall and the outer wall are contoured from a first radius to a second radius smaller than the first radius; flowing the oxidizer at a higher axial velocity at the inner wall relative to the outer wall upstream of a fuel injection port; flowing a fuel through the fuel injection port to the fuel nozzle passage to mix with the flow of oxidizer to produce a fuel-oxidizer mixture; and igniting the fuel-oxidizer mixture downstream of the fuel injection port.

In one embodiment, the trapped vortex combustor comprises a trapped vortex combustion zone and at least one secondary combustion zone disposed downstream of the trapped vortex combustion zone. The trapped vortex combustion zone is operable to receive and combust a first fuel and a first air and produce a first combustion product flowing toroidally therein. The at least one secondary combustion zone is operable to receive and combust the first combustion product and at least one second injection consisting of fuel and/or air and produce at least one second combustion product therein. The combustor may reduce the residence time of the highest temperature combustion products and achieve the lower NOx emission.

One or more micro-flameholders can be disposed within the combustor at or upstream of a location at which the flow is subject to the acceleration in the second direction. The one or more micro-flameholders can be configured to facilitate or promote Rayleigh-Taylor instability to cause interpenetration of the reactants and the combustion products within the combustor.

An actuator adjusts a depth of the detonation combustion region into the gas flowpath. A method for operating the engine includes flowing an oxidizer through the gas flowpath; capturing a portion of the flow of oxidizer via the inner wall; flowing a first flow of fuel to the captured flow of oxidizer; producing a rotating detonation gases via a mixture of the first flow of fuel and the captured flow of oxidizer; flowing at least a portion of the detonation gases downstream to mix with the flow of oxidizer; flowing a second flow of fuel to the mixture of detonation gases and oxidizer; and burning the mixture of the second flow of fuel and the detonation gases/oxidizer mixture.

    摘要: A gas turbine combustor includes a combustion cylinder and a premixing tube. A protruding wall of the tube has an inner diameter enlarging portion with a chamfer at an open end thereof. A swirl flow in the tube is guided outward along the chamfer, so that the cross-section area of a straight flow in the tube is expanded to have a lower flow velocity, and the distance between a flame in the cylinder and the enlarging portion is shortened. When using the fuel with high heat radiation upon combustion, the enlarging portion is replaced with the one having a smaller chamfer. The cross-section area of the straight flow is reduced to increase the flow velocity, and the lift distance becomes longer. Therefore, the damage to the combustion cylinder owing to the intensified heat radiation is prevented. The flame lift position retained in the cylinder is easily set and changed.

    摘要: A gas turbine engine and method for operating a gas turbine engine includes compressing an air stream in a compressor and generating a post combustion gas by combusting a compressed air stream exiting from the compressor in a combustor. The post combustion gas is expanded in a first turbine. The expanded combustion gas exiting from the first turbine is split into a first stream, a second stream and a third stream. The first stream of the expanded combustion gas is combusted in a reheat combustor. An outer liner and flame stabilizer of the reheat combustor are cooled using the second stream of the expanded combustion gas. An inner liner of the reheat combustor is cooled using the third stream of the expanded combustion gas and a portion of the second stream of the expanded combustion gas passing through the one or more flame stabilizers.

At least one part of the fuel is mixed with water vapor in the supply line and is subjected to a plasma discharge in a compact reactor that is in close contact with the burner in terms of reaction kinetics. In the associated device, a plasma reactor for creating a reactive plasma gas with at least one supply line for the fuel gas-water vapor mixture and an electric energy supply is integrated into the burner. The device provides suitable flow guidance of the fuel gas-air mixture, of the fuel gas-water vapor mixture, and of the reactive plasma gas.
