Abstract: A wireless sensor network at a monitored location can be configured to generate sensor channel(s) of data to assess operational conditions at the monitored location. Inputs based on the sensor channel(s) of data are provided to a host system for analysis of a demand to one or more resources at the monitored location. Response messages can be generated based on the demand analysis and transmitted to actuator(s) at the monitored location to effect an adjustment to the operational conditions.

Abstract: Provided are a humidifier control method, an apparatus, a humidifier, and a storage medium. The method for controlling the humidifier includes that: the humidifier is controlled to humidify an environment in a first operating state for a first preset time; a first humidity detection value of the humidifier in the first operating state is acquired; the humidifier is controlled to enter a second operating state from the first operating state for a second preset time; a second humidity detection value of the humidifier in the second operating state is acquired; a current environment humidity is determined according to the first humidity detection value and the second humidity detection value; and the operating state of the humidifier is controlled according to a difference between a preset target humidity and the current environment humidity to adjust the current environment humidity to the preset target humidity.

Abstract: An actuator in a HVAC system includes a mechanical transducer, a processing circuit, a wireless transceiver, and a power circuit. The processing circuit includes a processor and memory and is configured to operate the mechanical transducer according to a control program stored in the memory. The wireless transceiver is configured to facilitate bidirectional wireless data communications between the processing circuit and an external device. The power circuit is configured to draw power from a wireless signal received via the wireless transceiver and power the processing circuit and the wireless transceiver using the drawn power. The processing circuit is configured to use the power drawn from the wireless signal to wirelessly transmit data stored in the memory of the actuator to the external device via the wireless transceiver, wirelessly receive data from the external device via the wireless transceiver, and store the data received from the external device in the memory.

Abstract: A bathroom exhaust fan switching device for turning on a bathroom exhaust fan automatically upon start of a shower includes a switching module, which can be installed in a bathroom in-line with the bathroom exhaust fan, which is operationally engaged to an electrical circuit. The switching module comprises a transducer, a relay, and a microprocessor. The transducer converts sound into an electrical signal. The relay is operationally engaged to the electrical circuit. The microprocessor, which is operationally engaged to the transducer and the relay, is programmed to recognize a sound signature of a shower in the bathroom to the exclusion of sound signatures of other water fixtures in the bathroom. The microprocessor actuates the relay upon receipt of an electrical signal from the transducer bearing the sound signature of the shower so that the bathroom exhaust fan is powered on to remove moist air from the bathroom.

Abstract: A ventilation system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a plurality of dedicated outdoor air systems, each having one or more temperature sensors and configured to cause outdoor air to flow into an indoor space and indoor air to flow outside thereof; and a controller configured to control the plurality of dedicated outdoor air systems based on temperature data sensed by temperature sensors included in the plurality of dedicated outdoor air systems, wherein the controller: in response to temperature uniformity of the indoor space, in which the plurality of dedicated outdoor air systems are installed, satisfying a predetermined temperature uniformity criterion, controls all the dedicated outdoor air systems to operate in a first operation mode in which the dedicated outdoor air systems operate according to a set temperature; and in response to the temperature uniformity not satisfying the predetermined temperature uniformity criterion, controls the dedicated outdoor air systems to operate in a second operation mode in which at least one dedicated outdoor air system operates in a mode different from that of other dedicated outdoor air systems.

Abstract: A current load on the AHU used to maintain one or more comfort conditions in the building space is determined, along with a remaining load capacity. A maximum additional fresh air ventilation air flow that could be admitted and conditioned using the remaining load capacity of the AHU such that the AHU could still maintain the one or more comfort conditions in the building space is determined. A fresh air intake damper position for the fresh air intake damper that increases the fresh air ventilation air flow through the fresh air intake damper by a fraction of the maximum additional fresh air ventilation air flow is determined. The fraction may be based at least in part on one or more of a temperature factor and an air quality factor. The fresh air intake damper is set to the determined fresh air intake damper position.

Abstract: A variable refrigerant package air conditioner is shown that is easy to install in new construction with a unique base that causes collected mixture that overflows to drain outside the building. A control system is shown that has motors and compressor that are pulse width modulated so the air conditioner is infinitely variable while maintaining the highest possible power factor. Dehumidification of outside air occurs as it is mixed with inside air. By gradually approaching a temperature set point and even reheating after dehumidification, moisture is removed from the room.

Abstract: A plumbing system and water transport method. The system includes a global water source, a one way water transport mechanism, a growing tray, and a local buffer. The local buffer separates the global water source and the growing tray to prevent cross-contamination of water. The local buffer also continuously provides water to the growing tray on demand without the need for filtering or dumping of used or excess water. This results in low flow, efficient water transport.
