摘要： A packaging container is provided for a large-caliber cartridge having a thin-walled cartridge case and a projectile, whose projectile head projects out of the front of and is connected to the cartridge case. The packaging container has an outer container and an inner container, which receives the cartridge. To secure the projectile of the cartridge inside the packaging container, with respect to a possible displacement of the projectile toward the rear end of the container, the projectile head of the cartridge is disposed in the inner container in a frictional lockup. For this purpose, the inner container has a one-piece projectile-head shaped receptacle at the front, to which a first half-shell that partially surrounds the cartridge case is connected, and a second half-shell, that is hinged to the first half-shell and can be secured to it.

摘要： A container that is a spirally-wound, laminated, and cylindrically shaped is capable of protecting a mortar or other round from a large number of environmental conditions. The laminate material includes a layer of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) heat-bonded to a kraft paper, and is both durable, strong, and moisture-resistant. During the container manufacturing process, multiple layers of the laminate material, augmented by one or more layers of aluminum foil, are wound in a spiral fashion over an interior cylinder of ammunition container board, using conventional tooling and machinery. Layers of the cylinder are bonded to their contiguous neighbors by adhesive. The ends of the containers are sealed with crimped metal end caps, effecting a durable and moisture-resistance seal and giving the cylinder added crush-resistance. The construction of the container requires no high temperature operations, produces no noxious fumes, and does not expose workers to hazardous or toxic materials. In addition, there is less waste as compared to the current technology.

摘要： A speedloader for a shotgun having a tubular magazine includes an integral pulley system to minimize handle travel in delivering a plurality of cartridges into the magazine. The speedloader comprises a frame with a channel therethrough dimensioned to receive a plurality of cartridges. The frame carries a handle on an exterior longitudinal track and, inside, a pusher that travels from the first end of the frame to the second end of the frame in response to movement of the handle, thereby expelling the cartridges from the speedloader and injecting them into the magazine. The pulley system translates movement of the handle to movement of the pusher and reduces the distance the handle needs to be moved to move the pusher the full distance to reload the shotgun.

A door closing system secures the door during storage or an explosion. Another embodiment of the vessel further includes a liner positioned within the container, defining a gap between the liner and the container. A fragment arresting lining (i.e., sand) fills the gap. Another embodiment of the vessel further includes a layer of insulation between the container and the fragment arresting lining.

摘要： A system and method for packaging shaped charges (12) for transportation is disclosed. Each shaped charge (12) includes a housing (14) and a liner (16) having a high explosive disposed therebetween. A jet spoiler (20) is positioned proximate the liner (16) of each of the shaped charges (12) to prevent the formation of a jet in the event of an inadvertent initiation of a shaped charge (12). The shaped charges (12) are then oriented in first and second layers such that the jet spoilers (20) positioned proximate the liners (16) of the shaped charges (12) in the first and second layers oppose one another. A shielding panel (22) is disposed between the shaped charges (12) of the first and second layers. The shaped charges (12) including the jet spoilers (20) and the shielding panel (22) are placed within an expandable bag (32) which is in turn enclosed within a transportation container (34).

The container is adapted to permit stacking of shells in a common configuration similar to that used for factory loaded ammunitions. To facilitate stacking of the shells, the container can be held at an angle by a removable stand. The container with stacked shells is received by the cover and retained by a latching mechanism to form an enclosed housing that stores the shells. To access the shells, the container is removed so as to transfer the shells from the container into the cover. The cover is dimensioned to fit into many products designed to hold paper cartons holding factory loaded shotgun shells. The shotgun shell housing assembly is preferably formed from a resilient material so as to permit repeated use.

摘要： In order to simplify manually loading cartridges into a magazine, a device is provided for use with a magazine that receives a plurality of cartridges in stacked relation through an opening against a force biasing the cartridges toward the opening. The device includes a band configured in size and shape for placement on a thumb of one hand for loading the magazine with the cartridges when the magazine is gripped by that one hand. The device also includes a projection integrally associated with the band and extending from an outer surface of the band for engagement of a top one of the cartridges previously loaded into the magazine. With this arrangement, the projection has a surface adapted to contact a surface of the cartridges in such manner as to engage the top one of the cartridges when the magazine is gripped for depressing the top one of the cartridges away from the opening against the biasing force in response to a bending/depressing thumb motion.
