摘要： An aerial fireworks product has an exploding part that produces desired sights and sounds upon reaching an appropriate height above the ground, and a non-exploding part that returns to earth following the explosion. An air brake as part of the device is integrated into the structure in such a manner that it provides little or no in-flight drag during launching of the device. However, upon explosion, the brake bursts out into petals or flaps that remain secured to the non-exploding part so as to create additional air drag to retard the descent of the non-exploding part. In its preferred form, the brake is in the nature of a paper collar secured to the stabilizing base of the product yet positioned in close proximity to the exploding part so as to burst into the air drag-creating configuration upon denotation of the exploding part.

摘要： A sparkler for use as a fireworks display is provided. The sparkler has an extended spark display time, burning and emitting sparks in one direction initially followed by the spark progression reversing direction and then burning while emitting sparks in the reverse direction. The sparkler construction provides inner and outer sheaths of a flammable spark composition separated by an insulating layer of a fire resistant material. The inner and outer layers are in contact with one another at one end of the sheath, to permit ignition of the inner flammable composition by the progressing spark. Especially preferred is a construction of the aforesaid sparkler which emits sparks of one color upon the initial burn and sparks of a different color upon the reverse burn. Also provided is a process for the manufacture of these novel sparklers.

摘要： Fluoroalkylsilane-coated metal particles having a central metal core, a buffer layer surrounding the core, and a fluoroalkylsilane layer attached to the buffer layer are prepared by combining a chemically reactive fluoroalkylsilane compound with an oxide coated metal particle having a hydroxylated surface. The resulting fluoroalkylsilane layer that coats the particles provides them with excellent resistance to aging. The particles can be blended with oxidant particles to form energetic powder that releases chemical energy when the buffer layer is physically disrupted so that the reductant metal core can react with the oxidant.

摘要： A radio frequency receiver, in response to input command signals from some remote source, initiates electrical powering of an electronic firing circuit through which electric pulses are generated and fed through a power cable to impulse cartridges at the upper ends of storage tubes within a payload dispenser.
