摘要: An insert-type electromagnetic flow sensor is disclosed. The flow sensor comprises an insert, first and second electrodes supported on opposite sides of the insert and a drive coil housed in the insert. The drive coil is offset from a midpoint between the first and second electrodes and/or a width of the drive coil between the first and second opposite sides at least partially overlaps with respective inner portions of the first and second electrodes. The drive coil includes at least five turns.

摘要: A method for operating a magnetic-inductive flowmeter includes: recording an electrode signal of an electrode voltage during a magnetic field alignment as measurement data; low-pass filtering the measurement data so that a first low-pass filtered evaluation signal is present; determining a first flow parameter from the low-pass filtered evaluation signal, which is compared with a first limit value; high-pass filtering the measurement data so that a high-pass filtered evaluation signal is present; determining a second flow parameter from the high-pass filtered evaluation signal, which is compared with a second limit value; separately subjecting the low-pass-filtered evaluation signal and the high-pass-filtered evaluation signal to a same evaluation; and assigning a two-phase flow to the flowing medium if at least one of: (i) the first flow parameter exceeds the first limit value; and (ii) the second flow parameter exceeds the second limit value. A related flowmeter is also disclosed.

摘要: A magnetic flow meter for measuring flow of a process fluid in a pipe, the flow meter includes a magnetic coil disposed adjacent to the pipe configured to apply a magnetic field to the process fluid. First and second electrodes disposed within the pipe which are electrically coupled to the process fluid and configured to sense an electromotive force (EMF) induced in the process fluid due to the applied magnetic field and flow of the process fluid and responsively provide respective first and second electrode signals. Output circuitry coupled to the first and second electrodes provides an output related to the sensed EMF. Diagnostic circuitry provides an electrode referenced diagnostic signal. A method is also provided.

At least one electromagnetic coil is disposed proximate the tube. A flow tube liner is provided in the flow tube having an interior surface configured to contact process fluid and an exterior surface mounted to the flow tube. The flow tube liner has at least one adhesion feature in the exterior surface which promotes adhesion between the flow tube liner and the flow tube. A method is also provided.

摘要: Disclosed is a method for commissioning a magneto-inductive flow measuring device having means for producing a magnetic field and at least one measuring electrode pair for sensing a potential difference in a medium. The method includes a settling of the means during a settling time for stabilizing the magnetic field. During the settling time a first voltage time function is applied to the means, wherein after the settling time a measuring time begins, wherein during the measuring time a second voltage time function is applied to the means, wherein the settling time is divided into first time intervals, each of which has a duration, wherein the measuring time is divided into second time intervals, each of which has a duration, wherein an average value of all first interval durations is always less than an average value of all second interval durations.

摘要: A water management system having an integrated independent power supply that is configured to be operably coupled to a water meter wherein the invention is operable to provide continuous monitoring of water flow into a structure by measuring magnetic field data generated by a water meter. The invention includes a first sensor assembly and a second sensor assembly that are configured to be operably coupled to a water meter. The second sensor assembly facilitates the ability to capture data from single or compound water meter. The first sensor assembly includes a magnetometer operable to measure a magnetic field produced by a rotating magnet in the water meter. The magnetic field data is converted into a square wave which is wirelessly transmitted to an external computing device. The second sensor assembly functions identically as the first sensor assembly wherein the data therefrom is transmitted to the first sensor assembly for transmission.

摘要: The present invention relates to apparatus for monitoring fluid flow in a pipe using electromagnetic velocity tomography (EVT). The apparatus generates a magnetic field within a pipe and when electrically conducting fluid, such as an aqueous phase, flowing along the pipe passes through the magnetic field, flow induced voltages are generated by magnetic induction which are detected by electrodes. The signals at the electrodes can be processed to produce images of the flow velocity profile in the pipe. The flow may be a multiphase flow which comprises fluids, and may comprise a mixture of liquids, or one or more liquids in a mixture with solids and/or gases. This invention may provide a multiphase flow metering apparatus which has a number of applications, in particular within the oil and gas exploration and production industry.
