    摘要: This infrared sensor module is compact and capable of highly accurate infrared detection. The infrared sensor module (10) includes a quantum infrared sensor (11) configured to detect light in an infrared region, a signal processor (21) electrically connected to the quantum infrared sensor, a thermal conductor (15) in contact with the signal processor and disposed at a different position than the quantum infrared sensor in plan view, and a seal (14) configured to seal the quantum infrared sensor, the signal processor, and the thermal conductor integrally. A light-receiving surface of the quantum infrared sensor and a portion of the thermal conductor are exposed from the seal, and the thermal conductor is configured by a material with higher thermal conductivity than resin.

A method involves controlling a current (IACT) from a detector of a thermal image sensor with a first pulse width modulated (PWM) signal (PWMACT) for gain control, controlling a current (IREF) from a reference source of the thermal image sensor with a second PWM signal (PWMFEEDBACK) for gain control and for offset correction, wherein the second PWM signal (PWMFEEDBACK) is generated in response to a digital output (DQ) that is fed back from an analog to digital conversion circuit, and providing a current (ISUM), which is the sum of the current (IACT) and the current (IREF), to the analog to digital conversion circuit.

    摘要: The disclosed MMW wave sensing camera calibration arrangement that generally includes a millimeter wave camera that uses an energy emission calibration panel as a calibration standard. The MMW camera is positioned opposite the calibration panel in the MMW camera's field-of-view. The calibration panel is held at a constant temperature to provide a standard emission of millimeter waves that is sensed by an MMW sensor to set or otherwise calibrate the MMW camera to a baseline emissivity value corresponding to the panel. The MMW camera is linked to a microprocessor and non-transient computer memory containing a calibration routine that is configured to reset the baseline only when nothing obstructs the calibration panel's field-of-view. A visual display is linked to the MMW camera and configured to display an MMW signature of a metal object that is disposed on a person's body when the person's body is in the field-of-view, the metal object concealed by clothing worn over the person's body.

    摘要: A microbolometer detector for detecting electromagnetic radiation is disclosed. The microbolometer detector includes a substrate, a vacuum package, and an array of microbolometers disposed on the substrate inside the vacuum package. Each microbolometer includes a platform supported above the substrate, a thermistor disposed on the platform and having an electrical resistance that varies with its temperature, and an optical absorber including a frequency-selective surface and configured to absorb the electromagnetic radiation to generate heat and change the temperature of the thermistor. The microbolometer detector also includes a reflector disposed on the substrate under the array of microbolometers, and an optical window configured to allow the electromagnetic radiation to pass therethrough and reach the optical absorbers. The optical window is spaced apart from the reflector to form therebetween an optically resonant cavity. The resonant cavity is tuned to an absorption band of the optical absorbers.
