Abstract: The embodiments herein relate to a method performed by an analyzing device for handling dynamic characteristics of a vibrating machine component. The analyzing device monitors vibration of the machine component in real-time. When the vibration of the machine component is below and close to a threshold, the analyzing device provides a real-time indication of that the vibration of the machine component is below and close to the threshold. The analyzing device obtains the dynamic characteristics of the machine component when the vibration is below and close to the threshold. A change of the dynamic characteristics influences how close the vibration is to the threshold.

Abstract: A method of monitoring the health of an aircraft propeller whilst the propeller is in operation, the propeller having a plurality of blades extending radially outwardly from a central axis extending through the propeller and a propeller drive shaft, is provided. The method includes obtaining measurements representative of strain in the propeller drive shaft using multiple primary strain sensors, each primary strain sensor providing respective measurements representative of strain. The primary strain sensors are located around a circumference of the drive shaft of the propeller, and each strain sensor is located such that it crosses a plane defined by the radial direction of a blade and the central axis, the plane being bounded by the central axis. A corresponding propeller health monitoring system, an aircraft propeller comprising the system and an aircraft comprising the propeller are also provided.

Abstract: A sensor signal conditioning circuit of a machinery health monitoring module is disposed between a machine sensor and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The circuit includes a sensor interface connector, first and second operational amplifiers, a Nyquist filter, and first and second gain flattening feedback networks. The interface connector can connect to multiple types of sensors for monitoring various machine characteristics. The output of the first operational amplifier is coupled to the positive input of the ADC, and the output of the second operational amplifier is coupled to the negative input of the ADC. The first operational amplifier provides a high impedance differential interface to the analog sensor signal and a low impedance interface to the positive input of the ADC. The second operational amplifier provides an inverted copy of a signal at the positive input of the ADC and a low impedance interface to the negative input of the ADC.

Abstract: In a method for the automated monitoring of a machine with a rotating machine component, at successive measurement times parameter values (Pt) of operating parameters of the machine and in each case over a predefined measurement duration, vibrations of the machine are recorded. A vibration spectrum (Yt(f)) of the vibrations recorded during the measurement duration is determined for each measurement duration. A mean power density (Φt(i)) of the vibration spectrum (Yt(f)) is in each case determined from the vibration spectrum (Yt(f)) for a multiplicity of frequency ranges. During a learning phase a model function ({circumflex over (Φ)}(1)(P) to {circumflex over (Φ)}(N)(P)) for an averaged power density is determined for each frequency range as a function of the operating parameters. During a monitoring phase for each measurement time and each frequency range an expected mean power density ({circumflex over (Φ)}(i)(Pt)) is determined from the model function ({circumflex over (Φ)}(1)(P) to {circumflex over (Φ)}(N)(P)) established in the learning phase for the frequency range, and compared with the mean power density (Φt(i)) established from the recorded vibrations.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a facility fault diagnosing method using a vibration characteristic, which comprises the steps of: dividing a vibration generated according to a fault of a facility into a plurality of vibration characteristics, configuring detailed vibration code items by subdividing the vibration characteristics, and associating and databasing the detailed vibration code items for each fault type to store the detailed vibration code items; receiving an input of a detailed vibration code item selection signal for the each vibration characteristic from a user; and determining a fault type of a facility on the basis of the each input detailed vibration code item and association information between the fault type and the detailed vibration code items. According to the present invention, a vibration fault is diagnosed through a combination of a plurality of detailed vibration components by breaking a scheme of diagnosing the vibration fault using only one vibration component so that a more reliable facility fault diagnosis can be performed.
