摘要: A multi-functional precious stone testing apparatus includes a portable housing and a testing unit. The portable housing includes a portable housing having a hand-held casing and a probe casing extended from a front end of the hand-held casing. The testing unit housed in the hand-held casing includes a UV light emission unit, a UV light reflecting and guiding unit, and a UV light receiving unit. The UV light emission unit produces and emits both a long-wave UV light and a short-wave light, so as to allow the UV receiving unit to sense the UV lights reflected and refracted by a testing object for determining various qualities and distinguishing types of diamond of the testing object.

摘要: The method comprises feeding a second fluid in a porous sample; measuring a resistivity or/and conductivity in a plurality of regions having different second fluid contents in the porous sample; and repeating the following steps. Determining an estimated local volume of first fluid contained in each region from the resistivity or/and conductivity measured in the region and from an estimated value of the representative parameter; calculating an estimated total volume of first fluid in the porous sample from each estimated local volume of first fluid contained in each region; and modifying the value of the estimated representative parameter to minimize the difference between the estimated total volume and a measured total volume of fluid produced from the porous sample, the representative parameter of the porous sample being the estimated representative parameter minimizing said difference.

摘要: A leak in the membrane of a generally horizontal roof support deck includes dividing the membrane into separate zones and locating a sensor to detect moisture underneath the membrane. A movable scanning device carried by a worker has a power supply antenna for supplying power by an electromagnetic wave to the sensor and the worker moves the scanning device to selected ones of the zones. At each selected zone the power supply antenna activates the sensor in the zone and the sensor to emits signals related to the moisture underneath the membrane as detected by the sensor device which are detected and recorded at the mobile scanning device.

摘要: A probe provides one end of an electrically conductive path with a ground stake defining a second end. The probe is supported on a tip of a cable rotatably supported by a snake, with the snake including a conductor routed toward the ground stake. A spool can optionally be located between the conductor and the ground stake. A voltage source and a current sensor are located upon said electrically conductive path. The probe is fed by action of the snake along an underground pipe to be scanned. The current sensor senses current flow between the probe within the underground pipe and the ground stake. Analysis of the current flowing in this electric circuit allows for determining if underground pipe material includes lead, based at least partially on electrical conductivity of pipe segments through which the probe passes.
