摘要: Embodiments are directed to methods of examining preimplantation factor (PIF) binding to a subject's circulating immune cells as a marker for immune dysregulation. Some embodiments are directed to methods of detecting a level of immune dysregulation sufficient to cause recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL), methods of detecting a level of immune dysfunction sufficient to cause endometriosis, and methods of detecting a level of immune dysfunction comprising administering an effective amount of PIF or an analog thereof, and examining its binding to circulating immune cells. Within those methods, an about twenty percent change in PIF binding to a subject's circulating immune cells indicates a level of immune dysfunction.

摘要: Disclosed is a method for detecting regulatory dendritic cells, the method comprising step a: detecting the presence or absence of one or more types of molecules on a cell surface in a cell population that comprises regulatory dendritic cells; and step b: identifying regulatory dendritic cells on the basis of the presence or absence of the one or more types of molecules. Also disclosed is a method for producing a cell population enriched for regulatory dendritic cells, the method comprising step 1: detecting the presence or absence of one or more types of molecules on a cell surface in a cell population that comprises regulatory dendritic cells; and step 2: obtaining a cell population enriched for regulatory dendritic cells on the basis of the presence or absence of the one or more types of molecules. Further disclosed is a cell population enriched for regulatory dendritic cells obtained by the method.

摘要: The present invention relates to methods of determining if a subject has an increased risk of suffering from memory impairment. The methods comprise analyzing at least one plasma sample from the subject to determine a value of the subject's metabolite profile and comparing the value of the subject's metabolite profile with the value of a normal metabolite profile. A change in the value of the subject's metabolite profile, over normal values is indicative that the subject has an increased risk of suffering from memory impairment compared to a normal individual.

摘要: The invention provides biomarkers and methods for determining the risk of a subject for developing mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBI). In some aspects, the methods of the invention also determine the fitness of a subject for participating in an activity with increased chances of receiving a head impact. Some embodiments of the invention are directed to kits for determining the risk of a subject for developing mTBI or the fitness of a subject for participating in an activity with increased chances of receiving a head impact.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing a transitory ischemic attack (TIA) in a subject who is suspected to have exhibited a transitory ischemic attack, but who did not exhibit a stroke. The method is based on the determination of the amount of NT-proANP in a sample from said subject. Moreover, the present invention is directed to a method for diagnosing an acute cerebral ischemic event in a subject based on the determination of the amounts of NT-proBNP and NT-proANP in a sample from a subject. The method further comprises the step of calculating a ratio of the amounts of NT-proBNP and NT-proANP. Further envisaged by the present invention are kits and devices adapted to carry out the method of the present invention.

摘要: A transgenic knockout non-human animal is described whose genome includes a heterozygous disruption of the expression of at least one endogenous gene encoding zinc-finger, CCHC domain-containing protein 6 (ZCCHC6). The transgenic animal model can be used to study bone disease or development by determining differences in bone characteristics, protein expression, or cytokine expression in the animal model in comparison to a corresponding wild-type non-human animal.
