Abstract: A seismic sensor 10 comprises an acceleration acquisition unit 21, an earthquake determination unit 25, an offset adjustment unit 29, a convergence determination unit 29a, and an origin correction necessity determination unit 29b. After the detection of noise included in the vibration detected by the earthquake determination unit 25, the offset adjustment unit 29 adjusts the offset amount according to the magnitude of the vibration. The convergence determination unit 29a determines whether or not the vibrations have converged. The origin correction necessity determination unit 29b determines whether or not to perform the origin correction of acceleration according to whether or not the offset amount calculated according to the magnitude of the vibration after noise was detected is about the same as the previous offset amount, at the point when a specific period has elapsed since the time when the convergence determination unit 29a determined that the vibrations had converged.

The method may further include generating a trained model using the training gathers, the machine-learning model, and a machine-learning algorithm. The method may further include generating a seismic image of the geological region of interest using the trained model and a remaining portion of the seismic data.

Abstract: A seismic data acquisition device and a seismic data acquisition method are disclosed. The seismic data acquisition device includes an anti-aliasing filter, a first conversion circuit, a second conversion circuit, and a controller. The anti-aliasing filter has an input configured to receive seismic data, which is generally an analog signal. The anti-aliasing filter has an output connected to an input of the first conversion circuit and an input of the second conversion circuit, respectively. The first conversion circuit has an output connected to a first input of the controller. The second conversion circuit has an output connected to a second input of the controller. The seismic data acquisition device and method enable wide dynamic seismic data acquisition with high resolution over the full amplitude range of the (seismic data) input signal.

Abstract: Multicomponent data are acquired using a downhole acoustic tool having transmitters and receiver stations distributed azimuthally in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the tool. The receiver stations are located at several receiving stations along the axis of the tool. At each acquisition depth, waveforms are processed through a multi-dimensional fast Fourier transform, extrapolation and inverse multi-dimensional fast Fourier transform. At each receiver station, waveforms are combined to produce the standard monopole waveforms and the inline and crossline dipole waveforms along fixed azimuths. These oriented waveforms produce a finer azimuthal sampling of the surrounding formation, and can then be used for imaging geological features within the surrounding formation.

Abstract: A system for collecting and managing parametric data via an external communications network comprises one or more parametric stations operatively connected via the external network to a certification server and a payout server. Each parametric station is configured to receive parametric data from a remote source, determine that the parametric data satisfies a predetermined condition, and transmit the parametric data over the external network to the certification server in response to the parametric data satisfying the predetermined condition. The certification server is configured to generate a certification report based on the parametric data and a data model related to the remote source and transmit the generated certification report to the payout server. The payout server is configured to determine that terms of an associated contract are satisfied based on the certification report, and trigger a payout based on the terms that are satisfied based on the certification report.

Abstract: A method includes receiving over a network from one or more seismic sensors a data set characterizing a seismic event generating a seismic wave. Based on the data set, a time of arrival and intensity of the seismic wave at a predetermined location is calculated. The predetermined location has one or more mitigation devices. Whether the intensity of the seismic wave exceeds a predetermined seismic intensity threshold is determined. If the intensity of the seismic wave exceeds the predetermined seismic intensity threshold, the one or more mitigation devices are activated.

Abstract: A method and system for resistivity imaging. A method may comprise disposing a downhole tool into a borehole, applying a voltage difference between the array of injector electrodes, constructing a first set of formation images for each of the plurality of frequencies, applying a mud effect removal algorithm to produce a second set of formation images for each of the plurality of frequencies, applying a dielectric correction algorithm to each of the plurality of frequencies to produce a third set of formation images for each of the plurality of frequencies, and combining the first set of formation images, the second set of formation images, and the third set of formation images to obtain a blended image. A system for resistivity imaging may comprise a downhole tool. The downhole tool may comprises a pad, an array of injector electrodes, and one or more return electrodes.
