Abstract: A retroreflector system including an outer body panel coupled to a vehicle, wherein the outer body panel is configured to allow a radar signal originating from an external radar device to pass through the outer body panel. The retroreflector system also includes a plurality of retroreflectors embedded in the vehicle, where the plurality of retroreflectors is configured to reflect the signal to the external signal source as a reflected signal, and where the plurality of retroreflectors is configured to have a peak reflectivity for a radar wavelength range or a light detection and ranging (lidar) wavelength range.

Abstract: An image display device includes an image-forming element and a light source. The image-forming element includes a base member including a first surface, and a reflector array on the base member. The reflector array includes multiple reflector rows, each including multiple dihedral orthogonal reflectors along a first direction. Each of the multiple dihedral orthogonal reflectors includes a first reflecting surface reflecting light from the first surface side, and a second reflecting surface that is orthogonal to the first reflecting surface and reflects a reflected light from the first reflecting surface toward the first surface side.

The system and method has application in many types of direct irradiation heating systems and is applicable to both narrowband or broadband directed irradiation heating systems. The purpose and result of the implementation is to improve the overall system efficiency through the redirection of photons back to a targeted item which is being heated or treated with the irradiation energy.

Abstract: Display apparatus includes LEDs, bottom chassis to accommodate the LEDs; and reflective member disposed on the bottom chassis.
