The present invention provides an LCD apparatus and a method for checking the joining accuracy thereof. The LCD apparatus comprises an LCD panel, a printed circuit board and a package unit coupled to the LCD panel. On the printed circuit board, there is a plurality of first pins, a first check pad and a second pad, wherein at least one first pin is electrically connected to the first check pad and at least another first pin is electrically connected to the second check pad. There is a plurality of second pins on the package unit, wherein the second pins join the first pins on the printed circuit board correspondingly to connect the first pins electrically. To check the joining accuracy of the LCD apparatus, electric resistance is obtained by measuring the resistance between the first and second check pad with an ohmmeter. When the measured resistance is below a reference value, the assembly quality of the LCD is not qualified.

Each area enclosed by the projections, the openings and the peripheral projections is in a shape of equilateral trapezoid. The areas may be defined as the areas where the pixel electrode is in direct contact with the substrate. This structure causes a splay arrangement or a bend arrangement of the liquid crystal molecules in each domain, which is defined as a portion of the liquid crystal layer over each divided area, to be reinforced to improve the response time.

A LCD display device includes a LCD panel unit and a LCD driver (TCP) for driving the LCD panel unit. The panel terminals of the signal lines are bonded to respective TCP leads of the LCD driver. The panel terminal has a slit therein for inspection of the alignment of the panel terminal and the TCP lead. If the alignment is achieved, light does not pass the slit whereas if the alignment is incomplete, light passes the slit, whereby the misalignment is detected by human eyes.

A buffer TFT (104) of a scan signal driver circuit (102) and a sampling TFT (107) of an image signal driver circuit (105) are arranged so that the channel width directions of the buffer TFT (104) and the sampling TFT (107) are identical with a scanning direction of the laser beam irradiated to an active layer of each TFT. The TFTs of the driver circuit having uniform characteristics that are not affected variation of energy of an irradiated laser can be obtained. As a result, each of the TFTs can supply uniform signals to a display pixel portion for a uniform display.
