Abstract: The present disclosure provides method of monitoring a plurality of processes in an urban water cycle. The method comprises the steps of: defining an event having impact on a process activity of at least one process, defining a time-period, defining a first data set representing at least one expected process activity under impact of the event, the first data set comprising interrelated values of expected process activity and point in time in the time-period, determining a second data set representing actual process activity in the time-period, the actual process activity being the process activity under impact of the event, comparing the second data set representing actual process activity with the first data set representing expected process activity. Based thereon, a notification relating to the process activity for the at least one process is generated, if a deviation between the first data set and the second data set exceeds a predetermined threshold value in the time-period.

Abstract: A method for auto-calibration of a sorter is described. The method includes transmitting, by a carrier transmit board of a sorter, a short discharge command to a first section of the sorter. The short discharge command can be generated based on a first clock offset. Further, the method includes receiving at the carrier transmit board a status message indicative of a status of a first motor control board associated with the first section of the sorter. Furthermore, in response to the status message indicating that the first motor control did not receive the short discharge command, the method includes modifying the first clock offset to a second clock offset and retransmitting the short discharge command based on a second clock offset. If the first motor control receives the short discharge command, the method includes configuring a sorter control system based on the first clock offset.

Abstract: A network apparatus, for example, obtains probe data corresponding to a respective vehicle making a late lane change while traversing a TME of a traversable network. Location information indicating a location of the late lane change is extracted from the probe data. Map, weather, and/or traffic data for the location is obtained. A late lane change feature description is generated based on information extracted from the probe data and the map, weather, and/or traffic data. A model is trained using a machine learning technique and training data comprising the late lane change feature description. The model is executed to generate a late lane change prediction corresponding to a TME of a digital map. The network apparatus causes at least one of (a) the digital map to be updated, (b) traffic data corresponding to the TME to be updated, or (c) a navigation-related function to be performed based on the prediction.

Abstract: An artificial-intelligence, personalized-service robot used in living and working spaces is presented. The robot, equipped with sensors, appliances, and devices and an inference engine is capable of automatically providing room residents with services tailored to their “learned” individual preferences. Using multiple sensors to obtain information regarding the room environment and persons therein, the AI computer processes algorithms for operation and a knowledge base for making decisions to automatically detect the needs of room residents. These needs include illumination, thermal comfort, security, wellness, and safety. Within the course of providing these services, the computer senses the efficacy of the service including reactions by room residents. Using the computer's machine learning algorithms, this user reaction serves as supervised learning for updating the knowledge base and improving future service. As the computer “learns” the personal preferences of each identified room resident, the knowledge base is updated, and quality of service continues to improve.

Abstract: Design process that performs geometry synthesis on a 3D model of a product based on a design problem statement and manufacturing constraints associated with a manufacturing machine intended to manufacture the product. The manufacturing constraints may include dimensions for a tool bit, dimensions for a tool head, a set of machining directions of the manufacturing machine, or any combination thereof. For a 5-axis manufacturing machine, the set of machining directions may be determined by a “NormalSearch” algorithm and/or a “HeatSearch” algorithm. The geometry synthesis produces a design solution comprising a final 3D model of the product, whereby each point on the boundary of the final 3D model is determined to be accessible by a tool bit and/or tool head in at least one machining direction of the manufacturing machine. Thus, the design solution for the product is more easily and directly manufacturable by the manufacturing machine.
