摘要: In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a first die with voltage regulator circuitry and a second die with logic circuitry. The apparatus further includes an inductor, a capacitor, and a conformal power delivery structure on the top side of the apparatus, where the voltage regulator circuitry is connected to the logic circuitry through the inductor, the capacitor, and the conformal power delivery structure. The conformal power delivery structure includes a first electrically conductive layer defining one or more recesses, a second electrically conductive layer at least partially within the recesses of the first electrically conductive layer and having a lower surface that generally conforms with the upper surface of the first electrically conductive layer, and a dielectric material between the surfaces of the first electrically conductive layer and the second electrically conductive layer that conform with one another.

摘要: A voltage generation device and a voltage generation method are provided. The voltage generation device includes a first voltage generator, a second voltage generator, a third voltage generator and an output voltage generator. The first to third voltage generators respectively generate first to third voltages. The output voltage generator generates an output voltage at an output end according to the first voltage, the second voltage and the third voltage. When the output voltage is converted between the first voltage and the second voltage, during a first time period, the first voltage generator provides the first voltage to a first capacitor, and the third voltage generator causes the output voltage to change from the second voltage to the third voltage. During a second time period, the first voltage generator and the first capacitor cause the output voltage to change from the third voltage to the first voltage.

摘要: A circuit includes an electronic switch configured to be coupled intermediate a high-voltage node and low-voltage circuitry and configured to couple the low-voltage circuitry to the high-voltage node. A voltage-sensing node is configured to be coupled to the high-voltage node via a pull-up resistor. A further electronic switch can be switched to a conductive state to couple the voltage-sensing node and the control node of the electronic switch. A comparator compares a threshold with a voltage at the voltage-sensing node and causes the further electronic switch to switch on in response to the voltage at said voltage-sensing node reaching said threshold. A charge pump coupled to the current flow-path of the electronic switch is activated to the conductive state to pump electric charge from the current flow-path of the electronic switch to the control node of the electronic switch via the further electronic switch switched to the conductive state.

摘要: A voltage regulator, including an amplifier, a voltage setting circuit and a power transistor, is provided. The amplifier includes a first current source and a second current source. The amplifier has two input terminals to respectively receive a reference voltage and a feedback voltage. The first current source is coupled between the operating power source and an output terminal of the amplifier, and provides a first current to the output terminal. The second current source is coupled between the output terminal and a reference ground terminal, and draws a second current from the output terminal. The voltage setting circuit is coupled to the output terminal, and increases a driving voltage on the output terminal according to the first current in a voltage bypass mode. The power transistor receives the driving voltage and generates an output voltage according to the driving voltage based on the operating power source.

摘要: A system for controlling and regulating the AC voltage level delivered to a load regardless of the varying input AC voltage comprises a high frequency AC series voltage regulator coupled with a low frequency operating mains transformer. In one embodiment, the LF operating mains transformer operates at electrical mains frequency, which is typically 50 Hz or 60 Hz. The magnetic core of the LF operating mains transformer may be made of industry standard low frequency core material selected from a material group including silicon steel and amorphous core such as ‘Metglass’. The AC series voltage regulator is connected to the primary of the LF operating mains transformer, and the secondary of the LF operating mains transformer is connected in series between the mains input (which receives the unregulated input AC voltage to be regulated) and its output (which outputs the regulated AC voltage to the loads).

摘要: An electronic system device comprises a power generation device generating a power supply voltage, a substrate bias generation circuit connected to the power generation device, a memory circuit, a monitor circuit, and a capacitor connected to the substrate bias generation circuit via a switch. The substrate bias generation circuit generates a substrate bias voltage from the power supply voltage and supplies charges based on the substrate bias voltage to the capacitor while the switch is ON-state. While the switch is OFF-state, the capacitor stores the accumulated charges based on the substrate bias voltage. While the switch is ON-state, the substrate bias generation circuit adds based on the substrate bias voltage to charge that was held, and states the back bias voltage. The substrate bias generation circuit supplies the back bias voltage to memory circuit.

摘要: A compensator is described with higher bandwidth than a traditional differential compensator, lower area than traditional differential compensator (e.g., 40% lower area), and lower power than traditional differential compensator. The compensator includes a differential to single-ended circuitry that reduces the number of passive devices used to compensate an input signal. The high bandwidth compensator allows for faster power state and/or voltage transitions. For example, a pre-charge technique is applied to handle faster power state transitions that enables aggressive dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) and voltage transitions. The compensator is configurable in that it can operate in voltage mode or current mode.

摘要: A voltage regulating circuit provides a feedback voltage and an output voltage based on a power voltage. The voltage regulating circuit includes a reference voltage generator and a compensating circuit. The reference voltage generator receives the power voltage, produces the feedback voltage, and includes an impedance having first and second terminals. The second terminal is coupled to a ground voltage and a first current flows through the impedance at the first terminal to produce the feedback voltage. The compensating circuit includes a negative threshold voltage (NVT) transistor having a source terminal, a drain terminal and a gate terminal. The source terminal receives a power voltage, the drain terminal is connected to the gate terminal and coupled to the first terminal of the impedance through a path to add a second current to the first current when the NVT transistor is turned on under an operational condition at the FF corner.
