    Abstract: A control knob comprises an encoder assembly configured to convert rotary and axial input movement into electronic signals, and a knob assembly attached to the encoder assembly and configured to be operated by a user, wherein the encoder assembly comprises a shaft encoder having a shaft that is configured to be rotated around a rotation axis and to be moved axially along the rotation axis, the knob assembly comprises an outer knob element configured to be operated by a user, the knob assembly further comprises a bush defining a cylindrical cavity inside the outer knob element, wherein the bush has an opening towards a first side of the outer knob element facing towards the encoder assembly, the knob assembly further comprises a driver element extending into the bush from a second side opposite the first side.

    Abstract: The present inventive concept discloses a button which comprising a body, a lighting control unit and a cap.     Abstract: A locking mechanism to prevent inadvertent gas flow for a knob for a gas cooktop may include a stem configured to abut the knob in the resting position to prevent actuation of the knob, a locking mechanism movable between a locked position preventing translation of the stem to prevent against unintentional rotation of the knob, and a released position allowing translation of the stem and thus activation of the flow of gas from the burner, the locking mechanism including a rotatable mechanism wherein rotation of the rotatable mechanism moves the locking mechanism from the locked position to the released position, and a button arranged spaced and separate from the knob and attached to a rod extending downward from the button to engage the rotatable mechanism where the rod rotates the rotatable mechanism to translate the locking mechanism to the released position to allow the knob to be depressed in response to actuation of the button and the knob to prevent against unintentional rotation of the knob.

    Abstract: A device menu controls connector for a process automation field device include a field device part and a removable knob assembly. The field device part includes one or more Hall effect sensors, and the knob assembly includes one or more magnets. When the knob assembly is attached to the field device part, the knob may be rotated clockwise or counter-clockwise, or may be pushed or pulled. The interaction of the magnets and Hall effect sensors allow the field device to sense the rotation and the pushing and pulling of the knob. The programming of the field device allows the device menu controls connector to simulate , , , , , and key presses of a user interface. A field device having such a device menu controls connector is also disclosed.
