Abstract: Embodiments are provided for receiving a request to output audio at a first speaker and a second speaker of an electronic device, determining that the electronic device is oriented in a portrait orientation or a landscape orientation, identifying, based on the determined orientation, a first equalization setting for the first speaker and a second equalization setting for the second speaker, providing, for output at the first speaker, a first audio signal with the first equalization setting, and providing, for output at the second speaker, a second audio signal with the second equalization setting.

Abstract: A system and method for monitoring performance of a physical exercise routine. The system comprises a plurality of motion and position sensors configured to generate sensory information including at least a rate of movements of a user performing the physical exercise routine; a database containing routine information representing at least an optimal execution of the physical exercise routine; a training module configured to: compare the generated sensory information to the routine information to detect at least dissimilarities respective thereof, wherein the dissimilarities indicate if the pace of performing the physical exercise routine is incorrect; provide feedback to the user with at least instructions related to correcting the pace of performing the physical exercise routine; and a display for displaying the feedback.

Abstract: A system may include an electronic device and one or more finger devices. The electronic device may have a display and the user may provide finger input to the finger device to control the display. The finger input may include pinching, tapping, rotating, swiping, pressing, and/or other finger gestures that are detected using sensors in the finger device. The sensor data related to finger movement may be combined with user gaze information to control items on the display. The user may turn any surface or region of space into an input region by first defining boundaries of the input region using the finger device. Other finger gestures such as pinching and pulling, pinching and rotating, swiping, and tapping may be used to navigate a menu on a display, to scroll through a document, to manipulate computer-aided designs, and to provide other input to a display.

Abstract: In some embodiments, eye tracking is used on an AR or VR display system to determine if a user of the display system is blinking or otherwise cannot see. In response, current drain or power usage of a display associated with the display system may be reduced, for example, by dimming or turning off a light source associated with the display, or by configuring a graphics driver to skip a designated number of frames or reduce a refresh rate for a designated period of time.

Abstract: Gaze tracking data representing a user's gaze is analyzed to determine one or more regions of interest. One or more gaze tracking parameters are determined from the gaze tracking data. Adjusted foveation data is determined representing an adjusted size and/or shape of one or more regions of interest in one or more images to be subsequently presented to the user based on the one or more gaze tracking parameters. The compression of the one or more transmitted images is adjusted so that fewer bits are needed to transmit data for portions of an image outside the one or more regions of interest than for portions of the image within the one or more regions of interest. Adjusting compression of the transmitted image(s) includes decreasing a size of the foveal region for a subset of the one or more images that are presented to the user during the saccade or blink.

Abstract: A gesture tracking system for detecting and measuring phalangeal joint movement of a finger. The system includes an attachment structure configured to couple to a finger and a sensor assembly coupled to the attachment structure. The sensor assembly includes more than one sensor. Each sensor is associated with exactly one phalangeal joint and includes a string potentiometer, a recoil spring, and an anchor point. The string potentiometer includes a string and a drum. The string has a first end, a second end, and a length therebetween. The first end of the string is disposed on the drum and the recoil spring is coupled to the drum. The second end of the string is coupled to the anchor point, which is disposed distal to the first end of the string. The length of the string indicates a linear position of the associated phalangeal joint.
