摘要: The technique of the present invention ensures efficient management of printers in a large-scaled network even under a condition that some printer shifts its position on the network. A positioning unit included in each printer connected to the network recognizes positional information, which represents its own geographical position where the printer is located and includes, for example, a latitude and a longitude. Each of computers connected to the network obtains the positional information from each of the printers and specifies a printer, to which print data are output to carry out printing, based on the positional information thus obtained. This arrangement extremely facilitates the management of the printers on the network and enables the user to carry out printing with a selected printer that is located at a desired position.

摘要: In the development of a Web application system, each of the components of the servlet, JSP, and Bean is define in a one-to-one relationship corresponding to each screen image, thereby making the relationship among each of the components clear. A component table generating unit is provided for generating the definition of each component as a component table from screen design. Also provided is an automatic code generating unit for automatically generating the code of servlet, JSP, and Bean using the component table and the information of the design document. This facilitates the development and alleviates the burden on developers or programmers.

摘要: A print job requiring unavailable resources is held until the deficiency is remedied. The resource requirements of the print job are evaluated. The resource requirements are compared to known available resources. Either standard resources are assumed or available resources for the printer are discovered. Responsive to a resource deficiency exposed by the comparison, the print job is communicated to a printer with a command to hold the print job. Also responsive to the resource deficiency exposed by the comparison, instructions for remedying the resource deficiency are created and the instructions are provided to a remedy provider. The instructions are provided to the remedy provider either by printing the instructions or by displaying the instructions on the printer. The remedy provider remedies the resource deficiency and the printer processes the print job. Alternatively, the resource deficiency is communicated to the printer, the resource deficiency is monitored for a remedy, and responsive to the remedy of the resource deficiency, the print job is processed.

摘要: An image quality control apparatus controls quality of xerographic images formed by a xerographic imaging system onto a recording medium when at least one sensor which is operative to provide signals to the xerographic imaging system for quality control malfunctions. The image quality control apparatus includes a controller device in communication with the xerographic imaging system. The controller includes a data collection device, a determining device and an input generating device. The data collection device collects and processes sensor data received from the at least one sensor while the at least one sensor is operative. The determining device determines whether the at least one sensor malfunctions. The input generating device generates a controller input signal by using the sensor data collected by the data collection device and provides the controller input signal to the xerographic imaging system to control quality of the xerographic images when the determining device determines that the at least one sensor has malfunctioned. A method for controlling quality of a xerographic print after malfunction of a quality control sensor is also described.

摘要: A language is defined to describe design information that is readily available in electronic form. The syntax developed is applicable for use in the semiconductor industry, but other terms may be defined that are more appropriate for another use. Using the developed language, designers can describe their design intent in a spreadsheet as an input file. A neutral-format file generator reads this design information and translates the same into DXF output file, an industry standard neutral-file-format, which can be transferred into most CAD systems. All of the steps can be done electronically.

摘要: A modular copying system including combinations of printer, scanner, and system controller modules formed as independent frames. The scanner module includes devices for image reading, first data I/O and first synchronizing signal generation; the printer module includes devices for image forming, second data I/O and second synchronizing signal generation; and the system control module includes devices for third data I/O and system control. The modules are added or removed according to user requirements and the system is capable of accommodating up to seven modules. The modules are stacked in a vertical direction and arranging devices ensure proper module alignment. Once the modules are aligned and assembled in the system, communications between each module is accomplished via light wave, electric wave, or sonic wave transmission and reception. As a result, system interconnection is reduced, system noise is reduced and various connecting cables are eliminated. In addition, the system can be connected to a public ISDN line for transmitting detected system faults to the factory and for receiving fault diagnosis information which is displayed to a user via a display. Further, the system is capable of performing various image processing functions, such as processing with a space filter, image size conversion, image trimming, image movement, color image trimming, color correction, and tone conversion.
