Abstract: An information product or item, such as a for sale sign, can be configured with contact information and/or elements that link the information product to a networked system and related services (with the product being called a for information product or FIP in the description). These services can make available applications such as phone and web application that can be helpful in providing an additional mechanism/electronic media as it relates to the FIP and/or any FIP related product/object/item. These services may aid someone to whom the FIP belongs in fielding, FIP related, viewer inquires while providing the FIP viewer with more options, upon making requests to said system services. The FIP may make available linked application system services to viewers of the FIP, which may belong to someone who does not know how to link such services in other ways.

Abstract: A calibration method is used for correcting an inter-apparatus difference among a plurality of printing apparatuses. Each of the plurality of printing apparatuses has a plurality of density settings including a standard density setting serving as a standard of a density. The calibration method includes printing a standard density setting pattern on the printing medium with the standard density setting using one of the printing apparatuses, printing a density setting pattern for each of the plurality of density settings using another one of the plurality of printing apparatuses at a position adjacent to the standard density setting pattern on the printing medium, and setting the density of the density setting pattern closest to the density of the standard density setting pattern among a plurality of the density setting patterns as the standard density setting of the other one of the plurality of printing apparatuses.

Abstract: A printing apparatus includes: a display device; a controller; and a memory configured to store computer-readable instructions, including: a first acquisition operation of acquiring first image data for printing a first image on a printing medium using an ink ejected from a nozzle; a first color conversion operation of performing color conversion on the first image data to generate second image data; a second color conversion operation of performing, according to a display condition when displaying the first image on the display device, color conversion on the second image data to generate third image data; and a display operation of displaying a second image on the display device based on the third image data. In the first color conversion operation, the color conversion is performed according to any one of a printing medium, a printing condition, and a combination of the printing medium and the printing condition.

Abstract: A control unit determines nozzles corresponding to the image to be printed and causes a recording head to eject ink from the nozzles. A correction processing unit performs a correction process corresponding to each of ink ejection malfunction positions in the image. The correction processing unit (a) prints a test pattern using the recording head, (b) determines the ink ejection malfunction positions on the basis of a scanned image of the test pattern, (c) determines a droplet hit position deviation amount of the ink at each of the ink ejection malfunction positions, and (d) determines a print sheet type of the print sheet, performs comparison between the droplet hit position deviation amount and a threshold value set for the print sheet type, and determines whether the correction process should be performed to the ink ejection malfunction position or not on the basis of a result of the comparison.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to signal encoding for elements within PDF files. One implementation encodes an artwork element under different encoding conditions, and selects a winner version based on resulting signal robustness and/or visibility. Other implementations generate PDF layer masks to help determine overall embedding robustness, including interference from layered elements. Other implementations are provided too.
