摘要: A radio-frequency (RF) identification (RFID) system provides side-lobe blocking (SLB) functionality. The RFID system modifies a first RF signal to provide a modified signal. The first RF signal has an RF carrier frequency according to an RFID protocol, and a main directional antenna in the RFID system has a first main lobe extending in a first direction and is configured to radiate a first signal for reading one or more RFID tags according to the RFID protocol. The RFID system then provides the modified signal as an SLB signal to a secondary directional antenna having a second main lobe extending in a second direction different than the first direction to radiate a second signal toward one or more stray RFID tags.

摘要: Mobile device cases are provided which, in a first embodiment, selectively limit a user's ability to control the user's own mobile electronic device. The case includes front and rear portions joined together and defining therein an opening for receiving a mobile electronic device, such as a mobile phone. A locking mechanism is provided for selectively securing the opening in a first locked position to prevent operational access to the mobile electronic device by the user until a predetermined condition is met. The case includes an indicia of time visible to the user during the period of time of prevented operational access. In a further embodiment, a case is provided with first and second polymeric shells each having an interior and an exterior surface thereon and connected together by at least one hinge portion. The first and second shell portions form a cavity of sufficient size to cover a mobile electronic device sufficiently to prevent access by its user. Tamper resistant and ultrasonic sensor defeating mobile device case embodiments are also contemplated by this invention.

摘要: A flexible card may include a stacked dynamic magnetic stripe communications device having multiple layers, such as a magnetic emulator, a magnet, and a shield. A shield may form a non-flexible layer within the stack and may bend, but the shield may not be able to stretch or compress. Flexible layers may surround and adhere to the shield such that when the card is flexed, the flexible layers may stretch and compress with the movement of the shield.
