摘要: Disclosed are various aspects of a point-of-sale system, such aspects may include a computing device encased in a weather resistant shell and electronically connected to peripheral components through a controller board. The controller board may be located in a first void region of the weather resistant shell to allow protection of the electrical components from the elements. A point-of-sale system may include a power supply, wherein the power supply is in electrical connection with the controller board and in a second void region of the weather resistant shell. A point-of-sale system may include a payment device, having an EMV chip card reader, a magnetic stripe card reader, a near field communication (“NFC”) reader, wherein the payment device is in electrical communication with the controller board and in a third void region of the weather resistant shell. A point-of-sale system may also include a wireless radio module in electrical communication with the controller board and in a fourth void region of the weather resistant shell.

摘要: Systems and methods for facilitating real-time item-specific application of a gift card balance to a purchase within a collaborative gift card network are described. Such methods permit restriction of gift cards and gift card balances to purchase of specific items. Collaborative systems are used to implement such methods, such as computer systems and networked computer system. Methods for facilitating item-specific application of a gift card balance may be performed using computer systems managed by a single entity as well as in distributed computing environments wherein aspects of the methods are implemented by disparate parties. Unique bank card number are associated with a promotional offer as well as item-specific information relating to authorized uses of the offer. When an offer is attempted to be redeemed, a secondary item-specific authorization check is performed in addition to a check of the validity of the overall promotional offer.

摘要: A consumer terminal for a point-of-sale (POS) system used in performing a POS transaction between a merchant and a consumer. The consumer terminal includes a touch screen display having a touch panel, a secure processor in a physically secure area and a main processor in a non-secure area. The main processor is configured to display a series of screens to guide a consumer through the POS transaction. Upon receiving a request for secure data from the main processor, the secure processor instructs the main processor to exit pass-through mode and enter a secure touch mode. Upon a determination that the request for secure data is complete, the secure processor instructs the main processor to exit secure touch mode and return to pass-through mode.

摘要: A transaction card is provided for communicating with a computing device. The transaction card may comprise a computer interface device, at least one memory, at least one processor, and a card reader module. The card reader module configured to receive, from the computing device through the computer interface device, a first data packet comprising a request associated with a transaction, the first data packet being compatible with an interface protocol. The card reader module may process the first data packet to generate a second data packet compatible with the payment authentication protocol; provide the second data packet to the processor; receive, from the processor, a third data packet comprising a response to the request; process the third data packet to generate a fourth data packet based on the response, the fourth data packet compatible with the interface protocol; and transmit, to the computer interface device, the fourth data packet.

摘要: A device detection system is configured to determine whether a device is located within a venue. The device detection system detects pings from the device to determine whether the device is located within the venue. The device detection system receives point-of-sale data for a transaction from an entity associated with the venue. The point-of-sale data may be compared to data describing the detected device to determine whether the transaction was conducted by a customer associated with the detected device. The device detection system may correlate the point-of-sale data with content that was viewed by the customer to determine whether the content resulted in the customer visiting a venue and making purchases at the venue.

摘要: A technique for establishing a device network using a wireless communication protocol is described. The technique may include determining peer devices within a communication range of a communication device, and determining whether any of the peer devices is part of a device cluster having less than a maximum number of device members. When a peer device within the communication range is determined to be part of an existing device cluster having less than the maximum number of device members, that existing device cluster can be updated to include the communication device. When each peer device within the communication range of the communication device is determined to be part of a full device cluster having the maximum number of device members, a new device cluster can be created to include the communication device and a plurality of peer devices meeting a signal strength criteria.
