Abstract: A method, system and computer program product are provided for determining wire contact insertion based on image analysis. Methods include: acquiring at least one image of a connector having a plurality of wire contact insertion holes; identifying a wire contact within a wire contact insertion hole of the plurality of wire contact insertion holes; determining that the wire contact insertion hole is a correct wire contact insertion hole; determining that the wire contact has been fully inserted into the correct wire contact insertion hole; and providing feedback indicating that the wire contact is fully inserted into the correct wire contact insertion hole. The feedback includes in some cases a first indicator indicating that the wire contact is in the correct wire contact insertion hole and a second indicator indicating that the wire contact is fully inserted into the correct wire contact insertion hole.

Abstract: Free space machine interface and control can be facilitated by predictive entities useful in interpreting a control object's position and/or motion (including objects having one or more articulating members, i.e., humans and/or animals and/or machines). Predictive entities can be driven using motion information captured using image information or the equivalents. Predictive information can be improved applying techniques for correlating with information from observations.

Abstract: A method and system for reducing the number of colors per pixel present in an image to increase the ability to detect objects or anomalies in the image. A final number of colors per pixel to reduce the image to is determined, wherein the final number of colors is a number of colors less than the number of colors per pixel in the original image. A corresponding threshold value for each of the final number of colors is identified, such that the corresponding threshold values optimize an arithmetic combination of separation score functions applied to the plurality of pixels and the threshold values. The image is reduced to the final number of colors per pixel, by creating an output image where a value of each output pixel is equal to the number of threshold values that are less than the value of the corresponding input pixel.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method of determining a storage location by size for harvested tubers deposited by a bin piler are provided. The method may comprise: capturing one or more images of the harvested tubers; segmenting individual tuber depictions visible in the images; determining one or more shape characteristics for a plurality of the individual tuber depictions; identifying one or more unoccluded tuber depictions by determining that at least one of the individual tuber depictions is an unoccluded tuber depiction based on the shape characteristics of that individual tuber depiction; measuring a size of tubers corresponding to at least one of the unoccluded tuber depictions; attributing an average size to at least tubers corresponding to the occluded tuber depictions based on the measured size; determining the storage location of the harvested tubers based in part on bin piler location data; and recording in memory the storage location and average size.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to a system and method for monitoring performance of low-cost sensors plied in a field for soil moisture measurement. The low-cost sensors are calibrated to give useful derived parameters to support farming such as volumetric water content (VWC) of the soil. Further, the steps are being incorporated to de-noise their response to derive stable measurements similar to expensive rugged sensors. The calibration of the low-cost sensor and normalization of incoming values from the low-cost sensor are based on values determined through rugged sensors for soil moisture measurement. The normalization involves finding a minimum value and maximum value of soil moisture. Performance of the low-cost sensors are analyzed based on a range of values of the soil moisture. Finally, the performance analysis provides degradation stages and based on the degradation stages evaluated recommendations to modify the sensor are shared with the user.
