摘要: A computer-implemented method for obfuscating sensitive information associated with mail delivery is disclosed. The computer-implemented method includes identifying that a piece of mail directed towards a potential recipient includes a particular type of sensitive information. The computer-implemented method further includes selecting a mail obfuscation policy for the particular type of sensitive information based on the particular type of sensitive information. The computer-implemented method further includes performing an obfuscation action with respect to the particular type of sensitive information based on the selected mail obfuscation policy.

摘要: A method is described for biometric enrolment of a biometrically authorisable device having a biometric sensor for identification of an authorised user and a processor capable of permitting access to one or more secure feature(s) based on authentication of the user's identity. The enrolment method includes mounting the biometrically authorisable device to a holder in order to form an enrolment system arranged to be delivered to the end user by mail. The holder has a power source such that during delivery the supply of power is deactivated and the holder includes a switching arrangement configured to activate the supply of power in response to manipulation of the holder. The enrolment system is delivered to the user and the supply of power is activated in response to manipulation of the holder by the user.

摘要: Systems and methods which utilize gravity feed for mail item movement in postage metering operations are shown. Embodiments provide for gravity drop feeding mail items into a portion of a postage metering system for metering operations, such as to activate or apply postage indicia thereto. Embodiments provide for gravity drop exit of mail items from a portion of a postage metering system after metering operations, such as activation or application of postage indicia thereto. Postage metering operations as performed by embodiments of the invention may comprise scanning and activation of preprinted tokens. Postage metering operations according to alternative embodiments of the invention may printing postage indicia. Embodiments provide processing in addition to or in the alternative to the aforementioned postage indicia activation or printing and mail item marking operations, such as weighing, sorting, etc.

摘要: In certain embodiments, transaction data retrieval from a postage vendor system database may be facilitated (e.g., via label generation with multiple barcode representations of a portion of a postage tracking identifier, where the tracking identifier is generated based on a carrier-specific tracking identifier unique within a carrier system with respect to accounts recognized by the carrier system). In some embodiments, the tracking identifier may be generated such that (i) the tracking identifier comprises the carrier-specific tracking identifier and (ii) enables a mail piece associated with a postage transaction to be tracked within the carrier system, and the tracking identifier portion is allocated to the postage transaction in one or more databases of the vendor system. An indicium identifier may be generated to comprise the tracking identifier portion, thereby enabling the vendor system to identify the postage transaction using one of the two identifiers without the other one of the identifiers.

摘要: The present invention relates to the technical field of computers. Disclosed are a mailing method and a mailing apparatus. An embodiment of the method comprises: in response to a mailing request from a user, sending an open instruction to an intelligent mailing cabinet, controlling an article placement region of the intelligent mailing cabinet to open, and acquiring article information of an article to be mailed already placed inside the article placement region; generating recommended service information according to the acquired article information, and sending the recommended service information to the intelligent mailing cabinet, such that the intelligent mailing cabinet displays the recommended service information; and in response to the user making an adjustment to the recommended service information, determining mailing service information corresponding to the article, and controlling the intelligent mailing cabinet to perform a mailing operation with respect to the article according to the mailing service information.

摘要: The technology described herein provides a handwritten postage that comprises handwriting on a postal item that forms a unique identifier for the postal item (e.g., envelope, postcard, sticker) when analyzed by a computer vision application. The unique identifier is computer derived from the handwritten postage and allows one instance of handwritten postage to be differentiated from all other instances of handwritten postage. The unique identifier may be derived from an image of an envelope that includes an instance of handwritten postage when the handwritten postage is activated. The unique identifier may be formed from a combination of handwriting content (e.g., to and from address), metadata (e.g., date activated), pre-printed content on the postal item (e.g., fiducial marks), post-printed content (e.g., to or from address) and the visual image created by all or a portion of the handwriting. Postage value is added to the handwritten postage through an activation process.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for address verification support. One embodiment includes a print server. The print server includes an interface that receives a print job comprising multiple mail pieces which each include an address of record from a client, and a controller that processes the print job according to a first workflow of the print server accessible by a first set of operators, detects address anomalies within the mail pieces by accessing an address verification system of a delivery entity, generates a second workflow that is for handling a mail piece having an address anomaly and is accessible only by a second set of operators distinct from the first set of operators, and confirms that the address of record for the mail piece in the second workflow has been updated based on input from the second set of operators.

摘要: A method includes distributing a number of printer devices across a computer network with corresponding logistical nodes, and, through a server, dynamically extracting, from a number of digital pre-print files, metadata related to documents and pre-conditions based on scanning thereof, and classifying the number of digital pre-print files into groups based on an extent to which the dynamically extracted metadata is shared between constituents thereof. The method also includes, through the server, matching each classified group to a logistical node based on the dynamically extracted metadata shared between the constituents and dynamically tracked printer characteristics, commingling the extracted metadata within the each classified group into a master document in which the extracted metadata is laid out to enable printing through a printer device associated with the matched logistical node, and reclassifying a constituent of the classified group under another group based on a status of unsuitability of the printer device.
