Abstract: A sensor element for testing a flat data carrier, in particular a banknote, has a spin resonance feature. The sensor element contains a magnetic core having an air gap, into which the flat data carrier can be inserted for testing, an element for generating a static magnetic flux in the air gap, and a resonator for exciting the spin resonance feature of the data carrier to be tested. The resonator is formed by a stripline resonator which is arranged in the air gap of the magnetic core and comprises a flat carrier having an upper side and a conducting structure which is arranged on the upper side of the carrier with a characteristic length.

Abstract: A first magnetic field generator generates a magnetic field intersecting a detection object being transported along a transport path. A second magnetic field generator opposite to the first magnetic field generator with respect to the transport path generates a magnetic field intersecting the detection object. A first magnetoresistive element between the first magnetic field generator and the transport path outputs, as a change in resistance, a change in magnetic flux density produced by transport of the detection object. The first and second magnetic field generators are different in a magnetic pole facing the transport path and are arranged with a center of the first magnetic field generator in a transport direction of the detection object and a center of the second magnetic field generator in the transport direction are located at mutually different positions. The first magnetoresistive element includes a first resistor and a second resistor arranged with spacing therebetween.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for forming and detecting security elements on the surface of a component and/or in a component, in which at least one layer or at least one region that is preferably formed of a magnetic material or of a material different from the component material is formed on the surface of the component and/or in the component that is formed of a magnetic or of a nonmagnetic material in a locally and geometrically defined manner. At least one ablated track, at least one heat-affected region and/or at least one remelted treatment track are/is formed by a locally and geometrically defined ablation of material or input of energy on/at the surface of a component along a predefined contour corresponding to the respective security feature. In the manufacture of the component, a magnetic material different from the material of the component is introduced into the component at at least one predefined position in a locally and geometrically defined manner by way of a generative production process. To detect the security element, a magnetization unit is used to generate at least one magnetic field penetrating into the component or a magnetic flux is produced inside the magnetization unit that penetrates into the component. To check a security element formed in this way, a detection unit is used to detect the magnetic stray fields occurring on the security element as a result of the at least one magnetic field, and the measurement signals captured by the detection unit are transferred to an evaluation unit having an image-processing or pattern-recognition system. Using the evaluation unit having an image-processing or pattern-recognition system, it is checked, by way of the detected magnetic stray fields, whether or not the detected security element corresponds to a specification.

Abstract: In a general aspect, orientation information is used to generate a unique code. In some aspects, orientation information is extracted from an object. The object includes multiple elements, and the orientation information indicates the relative spatial orientations of the respective elements. The orientation information can be extracted, for instance, by a scanner system that detects the elements. A unique code is generated for the object based on the orientation information. In some examples, the elements are diamond particles that each have one or more color centers, and the orientation information is extracted by detecting the color centers.

Abstract: A magnetic head for detecting a magnetic field on the surface of a magnetic pattern based on a magneto-resistance technology comprises a support (1) and a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) (5) arranged on the support (1), and further comprises horizontal excitation structures (20, 21) used for generating a magnetic field parallel to the surface of the magnetic head; and a magnetic field detection component (4) based on magneto-resistance (MR) elements (R1-R4), the magnetic field detection component is used for detecting the distribution of vertical components of a leakage magnetic field on the surface of a magnetic pattern. The magnetic head can effectively detect magnetic patterns made of soft magnetic materials or hard magnetic materials. The soft magnetic material is magnetized in an in-plane manner by means of the horizontal excitation structures (20, 21), so as to generate a specific leakage magnetic field on the surface of a magnetic pattern. A Wheatstone bridge structure connection based on the MR elements (R1-R4) is adopted to effectively detect the vertical components of such specific leakage magnetic field, thus the features of the magnetic patterns made of the soft magnetic materials or the hard magnetic materials can be effectively detected.
