Abstract: A method controls traffic at an intersection having three or more branches. The method comprising the steps of: capturing image data by a plurality of camera units positioned at the intersection; sending the image data to a control unit; determining from the image data a plurality of variables; and based on the plurality of variables, determining speed limits, and setting orders and durations of lights of a plurality of traffic lights positioned at the intersection. A system performs the method.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the invention provide a method, and a system for providing a seamless traffic control to users for navigating intersections, when traffic signals are malfunctioning. The method includes monitoring conditions, such as weather conditions, or power outages of an area. The monitored conditions are used to determine malfunctioning traffic signals of the area. The method further includes defining a geo-fence for each malfunctioning traffic signal intersection. An entrance of a vehicle or a commuter is identified, when the vehicle enters the geo-fence. When the vehicle is identified, traffic signals are projected corresponding to lane structure of the intersection. The traffic signals may be projected along with a textual indication on a display device of the vehicle to provide safe navigation assistance to the vehicle across the malfunctioning intersection.

Abstract: Implementations of a visual cue system for conveying road state data to one or more vehicles traveling on a roadway can include a set of visual cue units that receive road state data and selectively issue a visual cue based on the road state data, at least one visual cue unit including a data processing unit configured to process the road state data and determine a light pattern based on a set of light pattern generation rules, and a light pattern display that selectively issues at least a portion of the light pattern to the one or more vehicles traveling on the roadway.

Abstract: A confidence score (or measure) that is related to the reliability of signal phase and time (SPAT)-compliant messages received at a vehicle. Vehicle-to-everything (V2X)-compliant messages are received from other vehicles and compared to the SPAT-compliant messages. Behavior of vehicles (as indicated in the V2X-compliant messages) in view of the content of the SPAT-compliant messages is evaluated for consistency and a numeric (or other type of) score or measure assigned to the SPAT-compliant message (indicating reliability of the SPAT message). The score is compared to a threshold and based upon the comparison, a determination can be made as to whether to use the SPAT-compliant message to perform an action.

Abstract: A LED Traffic Light to aid people who have issues with color blindness. For the main LED traffic light, there is a solid matrix of LEDs on the complete face facing traffic. The light pattern displayed will indicate red, yellow, or green and the light patterns shown will differ for red, yellow, and green. Auxiliary lights can be employed with the main LED traffic light to indicate whether or not turns can be made.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to racing light and racing tree devices, systems, and methods. More particularly, this disclosure relates to racing tree and racing light devices, methods, and systems that include pre-stage lights, stage lights, and go lights for use in racing, such as for example drag racing. Embodiments of this disclosure omit traditional amber “warning” lights (i.e. the go lights are illuminated directly following the stage lights) to reward driver reaction speed.

Abstract: This document discloses methods of training a classifier to identify traffic signal states in images captured be a vehicle. The vehicle can then use the identified states when making movement decisions when traveling in an environment. The system determines that a traffic signal is within a field of view of the camera (i.e., within an image). The system also receives a signal with signal phase and timing data for the traffic signal. The system processes the images to identify an image that includes the traffic signal. The system analyzes the signal data to determine a state of the traffic signal at the time of image capture, labels the image with a label of determined state, and passes the image and a label to a classifier in order to train the classifier.

Abstract: The present invention relates to method and system for controlling speed of vehicle by using GPS location, real-time traffic light status and machine learning techniques to recommend cruising speed to vehicle without stopping at the traffic lights. The method includes determining status of traffic lights located on route of traffic junctions and associated time period for status of traffic lights based on data received from sensors. The method includes broadcasting status of traffic lights and associated time period. The method includes calculating in real-time a recommended cruising speed of the vehicle based on GPS location associated with vehicle, status of traffic lights and associated time period, and a time period required by vehicle to arrive at the traffic lights using machine learning techniques. The method includes providing in real-time the recommended cruising speed to vehicle. The method includes adaptively controlling in real-time speed of vehicle to recommended cruising speed.

Abstract: Provided are methods for managing traffic light detections, which can include: deriving a first state of a traffic light at an intersection a vehicle is approaching, according to first detection data acquired by a first traffic light detection (TLD) system; deriving a second state of the traffic light at the intersection, according to second detection data acquired by a second TLD system that is independent from the first TLD system; determining traffic light information at the intersection based on at least one of (i) the first state or (ii) a result of checking whether the first state is same as the second state; and causing the vehicle to operate in accordance with the determined traffic light information at the intersection. Systems and computer program products are also provided.
