摘要: Embodiments described herein include a delivery system having unmanned aerial delivery vehicles and a logistics network for control and monitoring. In certain embodiments, a ground station provides a location for interfacing between the delivery vehicles, packages carried by the vehicles and users. In certain embodiments, the delivery vehicles autonomously navigate from one ground station to another. In certain embodiments, the ground stations provide navigational aids that help the delivery vehicles locate the position of the ground station with increased accuracy.

摘要: Autoland systems and processes for landing an aircraft without pilot intervention are described. In implementations, the autoland system includes a memory operable to store one or more modules and at least one processor coupled to the memory. The processor is operable to execute the one or more modules to identify a plurality of potential destinations for an aircraft. The processor can also calculate a merit for each potential destination identified, select a destination based upon the merit; receive terrain data and/or obstacle data, the including terrain characteristic(s) and/or obstacle characteristic(s); and create a route from a current position of the aircraft to an approach fix associated with the destination, the route accounting for the terrain characteristic(s) and/or obstacle characteristic(s). The processor can also cause the aircraft to traverse the route, and cause the aircraft to land at the destination without requiring pilot intervention.

摘要: A system and apparatus assists pilots and flight crews in determining the best course of action at any particular point inflight for any category of emergency. The system monitors a plurality of static and dynamic flight parameters including atmospheric conditions along the flight path, ground conditions and terrain, conditions aboard the aircraft, and pilot/crew data. Based on these parameters, the system may provide continually updated information to the pilot or crew about the best available landing sites or recommend solutions to aircraft configuration errors. In case of emergency, the system may provide the pilot with procedure sets associated with a hierarchy of available emergency landing sites (or execute these procedure sets via the autopilot system) depending on the specific nature of the emergency.

One method involves obtaining a first set of one or more attributes associated with a runway from a first data source, obtaining status information associated with the aircraft from a second data source, obtaining, over a network, a message relevant to the runway from an external data source, analyzing the message to automatically identify a second set of one or more attributes associated with a condition of the runway, determining a location of a reference point associated with the runway based at least in part on the status information in a manner that is influenced by the second set of one or more attributes from the message, and providing, on a display device, an indication influenced by the location of the reference point.

摘要: The present disclosure describes systems and methods for providing real-time holding and diversion information to a pilot of an aircraft. In one aspect, the pilot uses an electronic flight bag (EFB) or a flight management computer (FMC) to display in a GUI the holding and diversion information. For example, the EFB can receive ADS-B data that can be used to determine the location of the aircraft in the holding queue (i.e., the aircraft's queue position) and predict the amount of time before the aircraft will be able to land. The EFB or FMC can also display diversion information regarding one or more alternate locations (e.g., alternate airports) in the GUI. In one aspect, the EFB or FMC calculate a bingo fuel and the time until reaching the bingo fuel and the pilot must divert.

摘要: An emergency or medical package comprising has: a body; attachment fittings, for attachment to complementary fittings of a UAV; and a plurality of compartments for housing medical or emergency supplies, including a compartment for a headset, providing two-way communication between a user of a headset and a person remote from the package, wherein the headset includes at least one camera, providing a video feed, that is sent to a remote person. A method of delivering these supplies and providing control over the use of the supplies provides two-way audio and visual communication between a remote person and the user wearing the headset, whereby the remote person can provide instructions and directions to the user. A method of planning a route for the delivery of a medical or emergency package by UAV, and a method for providing for a delivery of a priority package are also provided.
