    摘要: An interactive black hole orbital simulator includes a base. The base includes a first end, a second end, an upper surface and a lower surface. The upper surface includes a guide running from the first send to the second end. A vertical shaft extends from the second end of the base. A horizontal shaft extends from a top end of the vertical shaft towards the first end of the base. The present invention further includes a slide frame and an orbital displacement disc. The slide frame includes a bottom and a top. A rail is formed on the bottom. The rail slidably engages with the guide. A first magnet is secured to the top. The orbital displacement disc hangs from the horizontal shaft above the slide frame by at least one cord. The orbital displacement ring includes a second magnet.

    摘要: Disclosed is a celestial identification device. According to some embodiments, the device includes a housing, a positioning sensor, and a light generator structured to generate an indicator beam that can be pointed at celestial objects. The positioning sensor can include sensors to determine altitude and azimuth of the device. The light generator can be a laser and mounted to a moveable pivot or deflected by mirrors and/or lenses such that the light beam points in a different direction than the housing. The device can be coupled to a feedback device, such as an audio player to communicate information about celestial objects to a user. The device can also contain or be coupled to a database of celestial objects such that, when combined with the positional data of the device, can determine at which object the device is pointing. Further, in some embodiments, a celestial device can be selected from the database, and the device operates to point the indicator beam at the selected object, regardless of in which direction the device is pointing.

    摘要: A spherical world globe with geographic features imprinted on its surface rotates on an axis through the poles. The sphere is not large enough to carry legible details of all areas. Greater details are stored in a memory such as a compact disc. An indicator on the sphere is positionable north and south or the sphere is positionable relative to a fixed indicator to position the indicator along a north/south meridian. A sensor senses the north/south position of the indicator and sends a signal to a control circuit connected to the memory. Another sensor connected to the rotation of the sphere sends an east/west signal to the control circuit. Using the two signals, the circuit finds the area corresponding to the area selected on the sphere in the memory and displays it on a display in greater detail than is visible on the sphere.

    摘要: A body portion of non-luminous material has an enlarged surface area on which design elements are applied of luminous material. The design elements are shaped to depict celestial bodies and the arrangement is such that when these design portions are charged by light, they will glow in the dark so that in an overhead position a nocturnal celestial appearance is provided. The body portion can consist of a double layer of material and the design elements confined between the two layers. A support for the body portion may include an electric motor for rotating the body portion to simulate rotation of the earth.
