Abstract:
Generally discussed herein are devices, systems, and methods for visualization of user intent in accessing a virtual agent. A method can include receiving sentences from the respective interaction sessions, projecting the sentences to a higher-dimensional space to create respective higher-dimensional vectors, projecting the higher-dimensional vectors to a lower-dimensional space to create respective lower-dimensional vectors, the lower-dimensional space including either two dimensions or three dimensions, plotting the lower-dimensional vectors as respective points on a graph, encoding the respective points consistent with the respective intents determined to be associated with the sentences by an intent classifier to create encoded points, and generating a visual representation of the encoded points.
Abstract:
An indication of a portion of a lesson to be viewed by students is received. Computing devices of the students are notified that the portion of the lesson is to be viewed and student interaction information that indicates whether the students are viewing the portion of the lesson plan on the computing devices is received. An amount of the students viewing the portion of the lesson is determined based on the student interaction information and task information that indicates the determined amount of the students that are viewing the portion of the lesson is provided.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for preparing, taking and scoring a test, and reporting the results of the test. The methods include electronically storing questions for a test in a database, and inputting teacher preferences for taking the test. The method also comprises electronically transmitting contact data associated with the test to students, so the students can access the test. The method also comprises authenticating student identification when the test is accessed and applying the teacher preferences. The method further comprises electronically selecting test questions for the student based on the teacher preferences applicable to the student. Still further, the method involves electronically submitting answers to the test questions. In addition, the method comprises electronically scoring the answers to the test questions based on the teacher preferences, including electronically sending student test results to the teacher, including a summary of questions requiring manual review for each student.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for alerting a user device when an objective is mastered according to a piecewise Gaussian distribution updated according to a Bayesian method are disclosed herein. The system can include a user device having a network interface to exchange data with a server via a communication network, and an I/O subsystem to convert electrical signals to user interpretable outputs user interface. The system can include a server that can: receive a response from the user device; identify a user associated with the response; receive user attribute data; identify a next objective; provide a data packet from the aggregation of data packets to the user via the user device; receive a response from the user device; update the user attribute data according to a Bayesian method; and generate and provide an alert to the user device.
Abstract:
A personal learning apparatus and method using a terminal which supports an electronic book function in a wireless communication network are provided. The personal learning method includes: distributing, by a master device, learning data to the terminal within a wireless communication service area; collecting, by the master device, learning results based on the learning data from the terminal provided with the learning data; and storing, by the master device, the collected learning results.
Abstract:
In some implementations, one or more words from a digital work are used to generate a game to be displayed on an electronic device. For example, the electronic device may include a library of one or more digital works. A word or knowledge game may be dynamically generated based on objects, such as characters, topics, places, organizations, things, etc., identified in at least one digital work in the library. As one example, a crossword puzzle may be created to include words and clues based at least in part on the objects identified in at least one digital work and supplemental information associated with the objects. The clues for the crossword puzzle may be generated automatically based, at least in part, on a desired level of difficulty. Further, in some cases, the game may be generated from words drawn from multiple digital works in the library.
Abstract:
A hand-held dry-erase system for communication is provided, with application in education, healthcare, or other fields. A writing instrument may be stored in the handle of a portable dry-erase board. The hand-held dry-erase board system includes a frame including a writable surface, a handle, wherein the handle includes an upper end and a lower end and wherein the upper end of the handle is attached to the frame enabling a power grip. A clip may be attached to the handle to secure a marker. The writable surface may be transparent, and removable substrates may be included.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for providing collaborative learning. In one embodiment, a method includes presenting a visual representation of a task in a first modality to a plurality of users in a group on a shared display and receiving a plurality of inputs from input devices associated with the respective users for solving the task. At least one of the inputs comprises a visual representation of the at least one input in a second modality that is different from the first modality and a successful completion of the task by the group requires a correct solution that is collectively dependent upon all of the inputs.
Abstract:
A system and method for on-line interactive learning and feedback is provided. The system elicits user responses and provides a means for the users to evaluate responses and receive feedback from other users and from subject matter experts.
Abstract:
