摘要： An ultraviolet risk indicator instrument comprising a dial and a shadow projection device on it, the dial having colored areas that indicate different UV risks, defined by lines of declination (solstices and equinoxes) and solar hour lines calculated based on the transformation of the Hour Coordinates of the Sun (Hour Angle and Declination) in a 3D Cartesian Coordinate System, whose origin is the tip of the shadow projection device (being a polar style parallel to the rotation axis of the Earth, or a straight style perpendicular to the dial plane) using matrix calculations to produce the necessary rotations of the system, taking into account the latitude of the place, the declination and inclination of the dial. The style may be a rod or a triangular shape. The tip of the style is the focus or point of view of a gnomonic projection, where the Sun is the “point” of space to be projected, the dial is the projection plane and the projected point is the shadow point, whose coordinates (x,y) in the dial plane are calculated. Hour lines for local solar time in the dial are calculated, converging to the intersection of a polar style with the dial, the lines of declination of solstices and equinoxes and the position on the dial plane of the shadow cast by the tip of the style. The shadow point moves according to the annual and diurnal variation of the altitude of the Sun crossing different sectors of the dial.

摘要： A manipulating rotary control device wherein a knob is connected to a dial having associated therewith a hub defining a socket for receiving the end of a control shaft, such as the valve shaft, in a domestic range or the like. The knob may be formed of a light-transmitting synthetic resin and may be hollow so as to permit desired aesthetic treatment of the interior thereof. The knob may serve as an insulating element of the assembly permitting the dial to be made of metal as well as of synthetic resin. The knob may be secured to the dial or hub by suitable means such as heat staking, etc. The hub socket may be closed so as to seal out moisture. An indicator may be associated with the knob which may be selectively movable as an incident of movement of the knob toward and from the wall from which the control shaft projects for providing an indication of the position of the control shaft. The knob may include a clear portion for viewing of the indicator in preselected disposition within the knob. A seal may be provided for sealing the interior of the knob relative to the movable indicator.

摘要： A gauge can include a face plate and an indication area disposed about a gauge center. The indication area can have a shape that can be defined by a bottom boundary, a top boundary, and first and second ends joining respective ends of the top and bottom boundaries. The top and bottom boundaries can be spaced apart from the gauge center by first and second radial distances. The indication area can be angled rearward relative to the face plate with the top boundary being spaced rearward from the face plate. A plurality of indicia can be disposed on the face plate. The gauge can further include a laser system disposed behind a rear side of the face plate and arranged to rotate and reflect a laser beam to a position adjacent or relative to a specific one of the plurality of indicia based on a signal output from a sensor.
