    摘要: The invention relates to an overvoltage protection device having one or more parallel-connected voltage-limiting elements which are located in one physical unit, such as varistors, diodes or means of this type configured in the form of a disc, comprising a shell apparatus in order to electrically disconnect the overvoltage-limiting elements when they are thermally overloaded, and means for indication and/or signalling of the fault state which then occurs, wherein the switching apparatus is connected via a means which can be released thermally, such as adhesive or a solder, to a connecting contact of the at least one overvoltage-limiting element, and/or to an external terminal contact or plug contact. According to the invention, the switching apparatus is in the form of a solid U-shaped switching fork, the fork tines of which run essentially parallel to the side surfaces of the overvoltage-limiting element, holding the latter in the space between the tines. At least one of the fork tines rests on the at least one connecting contact and is fixed there via the means which can be released thermally wherein, when disconnection occurs, the disconnection slide is moved with the switching fork being driven and, in the process, the connection point between the fork tines and the connecting contact represents a fulcrum for the switching fork movement.

    摘要: A circuit breaker includes a body having a neck member integrally connected thereto. A flange extends from an inner periphery of the neck member and a recess is defined in an inner periphery of the flange. Two terminals are connected to the body and a bi-metallic plate has an end fixed to one of the terminals and there other end of the bi-metallic plate is a free end on which a contact point is connected so as to be in contact with another contact point on one of the terminals. A button has a stop plate extending radially therefrom which is sized to move through the first recess of the flange, and the button is then rotated an angle to shift the stop plate away from the first recess. A resilient member is biased between the stop plate and an inside of the body. By the off alignment of the stop member and the flange, the button is not disengaged from the body.

The differential shifter mechanism includes a push shifter having a plurality of operation ends; a pull shifter having a plurality of operation ends; and a differential lever disposed between the push shifter and the pull shifter. The differential lever is provided with an action end for applying the force to the tripping lever upon an overload, and an action end for applying the force to the tripping lever upon an open-phase. The two action ends face the tripping lever, and the action end for the open-phase is located at a position farther from the tripping lever than the action end for the overload.

    摘要: A thermally-responsive current-sensitive switch having a molded plastic body containing first and second terminals in the form of metal stampings and having an internal chamber wherein a leaf spring and a snap-acting bimetallic blade of the same shape are together spot-welded to one of the terminals with the leaf spring underlying the bimetal in registry therewith and at its other end carrying a sliver contact which cooperates in switching operations with the other switch terminal. In one embodiment, the spring bias of the leaf spring tends to open the switch and the force generated by the bimetal in its contacts-closing movement is sufficient to overcome the spring bias of the leaf spring, whereas in another embodiment the leaf spring develops either a neutral force or a contacts-opening force. The leaf spring electrically shunts the bimetal, whereby the current-carrying capability of the switch is increased and different switch specifications can use the same bimetal with different leaf springs.

    摘要: A preferably push button-actuated overload protective circuit breaker with bimetal cut-out is devised for being plugged into a flat female plug socket. The circuit breaker comprises a bimetal contact element and a fixed contact element besides each other and consisting each of an elongated punched-out part of substantially flat right parallelepiped shape. They have outer ends protruding out of a circuit breaker housing and lying with their flat longitudinal sections in the same plane, while their inner free ends inside the housing have their flat longitudinal sections lying in two different planes which are parallel with, but spaced from each other. A bimetal snap element is fastened at one end thereof, on the inner free end of the bimetal contact element and overlaps with its opposite slewable end, which bears a bimetal contact post, the inner free end of the fixed contact element and a fixed contact post thereon. In their middle regions, the bimetal and fixed contact elements are embedded positively in a form-stable base member made of injectable or castable synthetic electrically insulating material, which base member forms a part of the walls of the housing. At the region where the bimetal contact element protrudes from the base element to extend into the interior of the housing, it bears a weakened zone, e.g. a puched-out hole, as a bending zone being adjustable to a desired bend.

    摘要: A molded case circuit breaker includes a solenoid control circuit for controllably energizing a solenoid to actuate a motor operator to automatically move a handle of the circuit breaker to change the operative condition of the circuit breaker. The control circuit includes a monostable multivibrator that supplies an electrical pulse to the solenoid upon the receipt of a switching initiation signal. The time duration of the electrical pulse is controlled to be sufficiently long to assure proper operation of the solenoid and is determined by a timing circuit coupled to the source of operating voltage for the solenoid. If the operating voltage decreases, the time required to charge the timing circuit increases, increasing the duration of the electrical pulse of the solenoid to assure proper operation under low voltage conditions.

    摘要: A reduced-size thermal overload relay having a housing (2) that includes three narrow compartments (2k, 2l, 2m) in which are mounted three connector brackets (16,18,20) supporting three flat bimetal members (16j, 18j, 20j). Three narrow cassette heaters (6,8,10) are mounted at the upper part of the housing and held in by a snap-in hold-down device (12) that engages pairs of hooks (6b, 7b) at the lower portions of the heaters. A pushbutton (12a) on the hold-down device extends through a hole (3c) in the front wall of the housing for manual depression to release the heaters for removal. Each bracket (16) is H-shaped having legs (16c, 16d) for mounting it in a housing compartment (2k) and arms (16a, 16b) connected by a platform (16e) to which the upper terminal clip (6d) of the cassette heater is clamped with a screw (16q), the small angles of this platform and terminal clip automatically drawing the flat heater element (6c) into desired spacing with the bimetal member. The current flow down the arms (16a, 16b) prevents loss of heat through the terminal lead (16h). A switch (4) mounted at the side of the housing is tripped by a joint or differential operating mechanism (28,30,32) mounted below the three compartments and actuated by the three deflecting bimetal members.
