    摘要: A degaussing circuit for compulsorily degaussing a picture tube of a CRT monitor by causing alternating current to flow through a degaussing coil. A switching part, connected to a first end of the degaussing coil, switches a current flowing into the degaussing coil on/off. A chargeable device connected to the first end or to a second end of the degaussing coil removes a potential difference across the degaussing coil when the switching part is turned off. Alternatively, chargeable devices may be connected to both the first and second ends of the degaussing coil. Thus, an electromagnetic field is prevented from being generated by the residual current in the degaussing coil, to thereby meet electromagnetic field safety standards for the monitor.

    摘要: The object of the present invention is to provide a field emission device that emits an electron beam bundle whose spot profile on a display screen has as little distortion as possible, and that maintains a stable electron emission property regardless of the length of a driving time, a CRT apparatus equipped with such field emission device, and a production method of such CRT apparatus. The field emission device (10) has, on a surface of a substrate (11), a plurality of cathode electrodes (12) parallel to each other, an insulation layer (13), and a plurality of extraction electrodes (14) parallel to each other, in the stated order, the cathode electrodes (12) and the extraction electrodes (14) being orthogonal to each other and so yielding a plurality of crossover regions. At the crossover regions, electron emission zones (15) each made up of four emitters (16) are formed. One or more of the electron emission zones (15) are selected by controlling the applied voltage between the cathode electrodes (12) and the extraction electrodes (14), according to an area of the display screen to be irradiated with the electron beam bundle.

    摘要: A CRT apparatus is composed of a CRT, a deflection yoke, a velocity modulation coil, and a magnetic member. The CRT includes a glass bulb made up of a panel and a funnel connected together and an electron gun housed within the glass bulb, and emits an electron beam from the electron gun toward a phosphor screen formed on an inner surface of the panel. The deflection yoke includes a horizontal deflection coil and a vertical deflection coil, and scans the electron beam over the phosphor screen. The velocity modulation coil is arranged outside the CRT, and modulates a velocity at which the electron beam is scanned horizontally. The magnetic member is arranged to surround an outer circumference of the CRT with the velocity modulation coil positioned therebetween, so as to cover a position corresponding to a space between axially aligned electrodes of the electron gun.

    摘要: A color cathode ray tube having a striped phosphor screen is provided, in which color displacements due to the tube axis (Z-axis) component of the terrestrial magnetism can be decreased at low cost. A positive temperature coefficient thermistor and a degaussing coil are connected in series to an AC power source (AC 100V) via a switch. A rectifier/smoothing circuit is provided in parallel to the positive temperature coefficient thermistor. When the switch is turned on, an ordinary degaussing process due to the AC attenuating magnetic field interlinked to the degaussing coil is performed, and the DC magnetic field in the Y-axis direction interlinked to the degaussing coil decreases the influence of the terrestrial magnetism in the tube axis direction (Z-axis direction).

The colour picture tube includes a shadow mask which is secured to a mask frame. In order to improve the shielding effect, a shielding plate, which shields external magnetic fields, is secured to at least one longitudinal bar of the mask frame. By means of such a shielding plate, the picture quality of a colour picture tube can be improved and the manufacturing efforts can be simplified in comparison with conventional colour picture tubes.
