    Abstract: An ionizing system includes a flange device for connection to a mass spectrometer or ion mobility spectrometer having the property of providing a barrier between the lower pressure region of the spectrometer and a higher pressure region substantially at atmospheric pressure, and a channel therethrough providing fluid communication between the higher and lower pressure regions. A plate device independent of the flange device which can accommodate multiple samples, such as a sample plate device, when placed over the channel in the flange device substantially seals the channel Sliding the sample plate device while in intimate contact with the flange device provides a means to sequentially and rapidly expose said samples to the opening of the channel and thus the lower pressure region. Samples are ionized when exposed to the lower pressure region in as little as one sample per second using multiple ionization methods.

    Abstract: A water-containing simulated lunar soil preparation and water content measurement system and method is provided. The system includes a water-containing simulated lunar soil preparation unit, a low-pressure environment simulation unit, and a water content analysis unit. The water-containing simulated lunar soil preparation unit includes a preparation pipeline, a low-temperature lunar soil cold trap, and a low-temperature water ice cold trap. Both ends of the preparation pipeline are connected with the low-temperature lunar soil cold trap and the low-temperature water ice cold trap through a first opening and closing valve and a second opening and closing valve, respectively. The low-pressure environment simulation unit includes a low-pressure pipeline provided with a vacuum pump. Both ends of the low-pressure pipeline are connected with the preparation pipeline and the water content analysis unit through a first pneumatic valve and a second pneumatic valve, respectively.

    Abstract: A mass spectrometer includes a vacuum chamber, a pump for maintaining a vacuum chamber at an operating vacuum pressure, an ion source, a first mass filter configured to select precursor ions, a collision/reaction cell pressurized with a collision or reaction gas and configured to generate a plurality of product ions from the precursor ions by colliding or reacting the precursor ions with one or more gas particles, and a second mass filter configured to select target ions from the product ions. Also provided are entrance and exit lenses between the collision/reaction cell and the first and second mass filters, respectively, each of which include axially-spaced ion lenses and evacuation chambers between adjacent ion lenses. A plenum fluidly connects the evacuation chambers to the pump inlet to facilitate evacuation of collision or reaction gas escaping the collision/reaction cell to the pump away from the first and second mass filters.

    Abstract: The technical solution of the present disclosure provides an ion source apparatus and a mass spectrometer. According to the ion source apparatus, the axial ion guide assembly includes the plurality of multipole segments extending axially, the transmission path of axial ions is straight, and the ion transmission efficiency is substantially unaffected when the axial ion source is used alone. Further, since the ion outlet of the lateral ion guide assembly faces a gap between two adjacent segmented multipoles, the lateral ion guide assembly does not affect axial field, thereby integrating the multiple ion sources while ensuring the ion transmission efficiency and ion constraining of the axial ion source.
